A good read on the overhaul of JFK and the whole airport's progress toward a world-class customer experience. Airbiz is proud to have contributed to the planning behind the $1.5B expansion of JFK T4 and the $9.5B New Terminal One!
Anchoring the $19 billion transformation of JFK Airport, The New Terminal One at JFK will re-imagine the customer experience for international travelers. A light-filled immigration hall will welcome arriving passengers while biometric capabilities will provide a seamless journey through departures. As our Capital Program Director Palmina Whelan, CCM, FCMAA, MCIOB, NAC puts it, "We are looking for a pure customer experience ensuring that we meet that world-class standard ... where it’s intuitive, it’s seamless. They come in and they’re immersed into a sense of place.” Learn more in this Engineering News-Record cover story about how we are re-defining the international travel experience at JFK Airport: https://lnkd.in/gEvdjVkb

One thing we always do at our annual Forum is a gala dinner and awards night, where we give Long Service and Team Player awards. The Team Player award is decided by an internal vote and goes to employees who consistently work well with others, demonstrate willingness to help, go above and beyond, and always contribute to the success of the team. This year we recognised George Lazenkas for thirty years and Dustin Froese and Alexander Lampadov for ten years at Airbiz. This year's Team Player Award was a three-way tie (for the first time) between Daniel Wanasili, Josh Crane and Woody Andrew. Congratulations to all our winners!

An important part of our annual Forum is volunteering in the community, and this year we had a special opportunity in #Fiji. We teamed up with the Sigatoka River Safari to visit Mavua, Tubairata and Toga villages. They gave us a warm welcome into village life with a kava ceremony, a traditional lunch, music and dancing, and lots of chats! Then we rolled up our sleeves and painted a main building in each village – two community halls and a kindergarten. We also brought donations of sports equipment, school supplies, clothing and toiletries. We had an incredible day, and the amazing hospitality we received made such an impression on us. #CSR #volunteering
