As part of Neurodiversity Celebration Week, our Chief Change Officer Alexandra Lazarus-Priestley's written for Diversity Council Australia Ltd about the framework workplaces can implement to foster neuroinclusion. “I’ve found it helpful to consider three operational dimensions—role, relationships, and environment, and overlay three guiding principles— 🧘 flexibility, which means embracing different ways of work, 💡 clarity, which means making expectations and success criteria clear, and 🔎 transparency, which means staying open and bringing consistency and visibility to communications and practices where you can," Alex said. “When combined, these dimensions and principles provide a comprehensive framework for applying neuroinclusive change within any organisational context,” Alex said. Curious about why these principles matter and what they might look like in application? You can learn more via the blog: https://lnkd.in/gHzFFrhe

We encourage you to amplify Autistic and neurodivergent voices, not just during Neurodiversity Celebration Week but every day of the year. Chris Varney from ICAN leads the way with the development of the Neurodivergent Students Guide to Starting High School ⭐️ #NeurodiversityCelebrationWeek
HAPPY #neurodiversitycelebrationweek! Having employed 189 autistic/neurodivergent people over the last 10-years through I CAN Network Ltd, I am very aware of the unique strengths which neurodivergent people bring to families, schools, workplaces and communities. Every neurodivergent child needs a safe and supported start to high school. This is why we worked with Department of Education to develop the Neurodivergent Students' Guide to Starting High School. We would love your feedback on this guide: https://lnkd.in/gyAcHPbE Guide available here: https://lnkd.in/ghjZqGxS Information on I CAN and the Victorian Autism Education Strategy available here: https://lnkd.in/gtpZJEsu #ICANSchool #icannetwork #autism #ican_rethinkautism #icannetworktv

Happy Neurodiversity Celebration Week! We love amplifying the perspectives of people with lived experience and organisations driven to shift perspectives. Three cheers for Katie Koullas from Yellow Ladybugs! #NeurodiversityCelebrationWeek
Happy Neurodiversity Celebration Week! All brains are different—and that’s not just OK, it’s what makes the world more innovative, creative, and full of possibility. We talk about neurodiversity every day. But what does it actually mean? Think about a forest, a coral reef, or even your own garden. Every plant and creature plays a role. Some need lots of sunlight, others thrive in the shade. Some grow fast, others take their time. But together, they create something balanced, thriving, and full of life. We all experience the world in different ways. And just like in nature, that difference isn’t a flaw—it’s what makes our world stronger. How you can get involved: ✔ Read and share neuro-affirming books – Stories don’t just inform us; they help us understand ourselves and each other in ways that facts alone can’t. Here are some of our top picks: • All Brains Are Different – A brilliant way to introduce neurodiversity to kids, making it easy to talk about in classrooms and at home. • Supporting Autistic Girls and Gender Diverse Youth – Our must-read guide for teachers and professionals looking to create truly neuro-affirming environments. • So, You’re Autistic: An Epic Teen Guide – Honest, relatable, and packed with advice for autistic teens navigating identity, friendships, and self-acceptance. • The Brain Forest – Written by educational and developmental psychologist Sandhya Menon, this book follows a mother and her son on a journey to understanding the different ways brains can be. • Square Me, Round World – Written by Chelsea Luker, an autistic/ADHDer psychologist, this book explores the experience of growing up feeling like a square peg in a round hole. • Growing Into Autism – Sandra Thom-Jones shares what it’s like to realise you’re autistic later in life and the journey of asking the world to see and accept you as you are. • Love Me, Love My ADHD – Chrissie Davies explores the unique strengths, challenges, and needs of ADHD minds in a way that is affirming and empowering. • Different, Not Less – Chloé Hayden’s powerful guide to embracing your neurodivergent identity and finding your own happily ever after. Find these and more on our website: https://lnkd.in/g4tW96rM ✔ Start a conversation – What does neurodiversity mean to you? Share your thoughts in the comments. ✔ Amplify neurodivergent voices – Follow, share, and learn from neurodivergent creators, advocates, and organisations. For too long, only certain ways of thinking have been valued. Many of us have been told we’re too much, too sensitive, or that we need to change who we are to fit in. But neurodivergent people don’t need to be ‘fixed’—we need to be understood, accepted, and supported. That’s what this week is about. Recognising that all brains are different—and every way of thinking is valid. Tag a colleague who should see this. #neurodiversitycelebrationweek #yellowladybugs #actuallyautistic #autism #neurodivergent #autisticgirls #autisticwomen #neurodiversity
