About us
The Australia-Africa Minerals & Energy Group (AAMEG) is the peak body supporting Australian companies to be partners of choice in the development of Africa’s resources sector. Africa is Australia’s most important resources investment destination with more than 200 ASX-listed companies active on over 1,000 projects in 38 countries across the continent. Today AAMEG represents more than 70 members including explorers, mineral and energy companies, and suppliers of goods and services. AAMEG and its members support the African Union’s Africa Mining Vision (2009), a collaborative effort by African leaders to ensure transparent and equitable exploitation of mineral resources to underpin broad-based sustainable growth and socio-economic development. We do so in the strong belief that responsible practice creates a competitive advantage. Our Primary Roles • To create a forum for AAMEG members to network and share operational experience in responsible business practices; • To represent at an industry level on behalf of our members; and • To assist Australian companies to engage with Australian and African governments and relevant institutions and organisations.
