AJSWA was thrilled to welcome our members and personnel from INPEX Australia to JECCWA yesterday to celebrate and recognise the three-year community investment funding agreement which AJSWA signed with INPEX Ichthys Pty Ltd (INPEX) earlier this year. The INPEX funding is invaluable to support AJSWA’s all-encompassing hub for Japanese language, education and culture – the Japan Education and Cultural Centre of Western Australia (JECCWA). JECCWA is one of only two similar Japanese cultural centres nationally and houses the largest collection of Japan-related language and cultural materials in the State. Securing INPEX as the inaugural foundation supporter is a tremendous boost that will enable AJSWA to expand operations and develop new programs to further benefit the WA community. Yesterday's event was a terrific opportunity for ASJWA members and INPEX personnel, including Vice President, President Directors Office, Takuya Sugawara to come together at JECCWA and to celebrate this wonderful partnership. We would like to thank INPEX for their generous support and to all who came to celebrate the occasion. We’d also like to thank Kyoko and her team from Shikisai Japanese Cooking Classes for the incredible food, Ursula from the Sogetsu Teachers Association of Western Australia for the beautiful ikebana arrangement, Deputy Consul Hasegawa from the Consulate-General of Japan in Perth for joining us and JECCWA Director Melissa Luyke for bringing it all together. Come and visit us soon at JECCWA! John Williams Natalie Garmony Patrick Whight ORS Yuko Tokunaga Yusuke Okamoto
