Last week, ATIC attended NoVacancy Hotel + Accommodation Industry Expo to share information about the Quality Tourism programs and how they can support accommodation providers to enhance their property’s quality, sustainability, accessibility and more. ATIC CEO Erin McLeod appeared on stage with Kerry Williams (Accessible Accommodation (The Accessible Group)), Andrea Comastri (Hotel Etico Australia) and Julie Jones (Travel Without Limits) to discuss and share how hotels can make their property more accessible. The Accessible Tourism program is a great example of how properties can “make incremental improvements over time, with a guiding hand to show them where to start”. All panellists agreed that “information is key” and that “properties need to share whatever information and images they can with visitors so they can make informed decisions on whether a property was suitable for them or not”. Sustainability was another hot topic on stage at NoVacancy. Kathryn Carling from Doma Hotels talked about how the Sustainable Tourism program available through the Quality Tourism Framework played a key part in their organisation’s sustainability journey. If your tourism business is ready to start the journey to becoming more accessible and sustainable, learn more here: https://lnkd.in/grPJ9K6k
