Not-for-Profit Connecting, Supporting, Inspiring Women in security across Australia

About us

The AWSN is a not-for-profit association. We are an open network of people aiming to grow and retain the number of women in the security community. We support, inspire, and act as role models. We connect women in the industry and those looking to enter the field with the tools, knowledge, network and platforms needed to build confidence and interest. We know the diversity of threats require diversity of thought on how to address them, and this is where our network thrives. This is our Public page. • Join Dr. Dennis Desmond and Jarrod Loidl at the AWSN Incident Response Simulation Workshop to experience a realistic cyber incident scenario, gain practical skills, and prepare for future cyber-attacks. Register Now: https://lnkd.in/gWxJWDww Most organisations are concerned about ransomware and cyber incidents, but very few are adequately prepared for them. If you would like a taste of what a real cyber incident may look like, join Dr Dennis Desmond and Jarrod Loidl at this AWSN event where they will conduct an Incident Response Simulation Workshop where all participants will be broken up into teams and assigned roles within a fictitious organisation and assigned a fictitious incident response plan but tasked with responding with a scenario as it were a live incident. You'll encounter a common scenario and all the associated problems that plague many businesses and be confronted with the cold harsh realities of cyber incidents. Attendees will be asked to assume the roles assigned and follow the incident response plan as best as possible and be tasked with adapting where appropriate to the twists and turns put in their path - as are organisations every day. It is our hope that attendees will pick up new skills and lessons that they can take back to their work or studies to prepare for the next wave of cyber-attacks.
