From social laughs to high-level battles, the upcoming season promises action-packed games and events that bring together players, fans, and families from across the state. “With the introduction of Games of the Round and more teams playing at West Beach, I feel it will bring some extra thrill to the year," says Operations and Introductory Pathways Manager, Giang Danh. West Beach will play host to seven Games of the Round with each ‘home team’ getting to take over the ground for the day. Great opportunity in South Australia 👇

Are you passionate about baseball and storytelling? 📝 Baseball SA is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help shine a spotlight on our game! We're specifically seeking individuals for two key roles: Women's Division 1 Coverage – We need someone to cover the Women’s Division 1 competition on a weekly basis. This role involves providing match recaps, and, if you have the skills, capturing the action through photography. Your work will help us showcase the incredible talent in our women’s league! Off-Season Updates – In the off-season, we would love a volunteer to keep our community informed on the progress of our college athletes, MiLB prospects, and players competing overseas in places like Europe. These roles can be filled by two different people, so if one area interests you more than the other, we still want to hear from you! This is a volunteer position, perfect for anyone looking to contribute to the baseball community while gaining experience in sports media. If you’re interested, please introduce yourself and send your CV to Molly Brown (molly.brown@baseballsa.org.au). Applications close Sunday 6th October. Let’s work together to tell the story of baseball in South Australia! #volunteering #media #volunteers #southaustralia #womenssport #storytelling

“Baseball in general has taught me a lot about myself, but the college experience has taught me everything I know. From how to cook…sort of…to the non-stop competition and fight for a team. It’s a constant battle for playing time so you can’t get complacent." There are twelve college players on Australia’s Under 23 World Cup team. They all left Australia in pursuit of a dream. Now they return to the national team not just better baseball players, but better people. They have to bond together for next week's U23 World Cup in China. The college experience is so important when it comes to Australian baseball development. Meet and hear from them all ahead of next week’s Under 23 World Cup here: https://lnkd.in/gwfJP95x

This is Liam Hendriks. He is one of the most remarkable Australian athletes. When he pitches next month for the Boston Red Sox, he will officially play in his 14th MLB season. No Australian in the modern day has ever played in more. In 2023 he overcame cancer. A couple months later, he had a severe elbow injury that required Tommy John Surgery and stopped him from throwing for over a year. He beat that too. Now, he's currently rehabbing in the minor leagues ahead of an anticipated September 6 return. We caught up with Liam before a game in Boston and he is just as Australian as ever. As Eric Balnar writes, Liam makes a conscious effort to connect Australians to feel at home in the midst of his 18th professional season abroad.
