Greatful to represent batyr in this weeks CEO Roundtable. It was valuable to share and discuss emerging AI and Digital platforms in relation to early intervention and prevention. A key focus for me in this discussion was to emphasise that we need to engage young people early and often across sectors to ensure we are capturing the voices of young people in this discussion. I look forward to collaborating further to ensure we create intentional spaces and opportunities for young people to talk directly to decision makers. Thank you Nieves Murray for ensuring we continue to collaborate on this important topic and to Richard Boele and KMPG for hosting and facilitating the session and conversation. #AI #GenerativeAIroleinhelpseeking #digitalinterventions #digitalmentalhealtheducation #sectorcollaboration #engagingyoungpeople #innovation #agebansocialmedia #digitalnatives #batyr #suicideprevention

What a night! The inaugural Pinnacle Plunge was an amazing way to recognise #mentalhealthmonth and raise awareness and funds for four of our not for profit partners. We are proud to have raised a total of $103,623 for batyr, We Are Mobilise, ReachOut Australia and SANE and are deeply thankful to Pinnacle Investment Management Group for being the driving force behind this incredible event. What a night! 🎉 Lucy Steggles had the privilege of representing batyr at the Rare Impact Fund Benefit on Friday night, hosted by none other than Rare Beauty’s founder, Selena Gomez. Now in its second year, this incredible event united mental health champions, philanthropists, and changemakers from around the globe—all joining for youth mental health. 💙 As the only Australian beneficiary partnered with the Rare Impact Fund since 2023, we're so proud to stand alongside Rare Beauty in the journey toward a $100M goal to make mental health support more accessible for young people worldwide. The evening was filled with inspiration, hope, and a shared commitment to change. Hearing Selena’s powerful story reinforced the urgent need for expanded mental health resources for our young people all over the world! ✨

Exciting updates from Los Angeles! 🌍 This week, Lucy Steggles, our Head of Major Gifts & Philanthropy is in LA for the Rare Impact Fund Benefit 2024 Benefit, with some exciting meetings along the way! Yesterday, Lucy met with Joshua Hollin, Digital Manager at Lady Gaga's Born This Way Foundation, which has been a proud supporter of batyr since early 2024 through their Kindness in Community Fund. We're excited to continue collaborating with BTW to amplify the power of lived experience, positive story sharing, and building kinder, braver communities worldwide. ✨ Today, Lucy met with Ross Szabo the Founder and Wellness Director of Geffen Academy at UCLA. Ross has developed an innovative wellness curriculum, integrating mental health education into every student’s weekly syllabus. Lucy and Ross had a great conversation about scaling mental health programs, with many insights to bring back to batyr. We can't wait to share more from Lucy's time in LA as she heads to the 2024 Rare Impact Fund Benefit tonight- stay tuned! ✨🐘

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us on Saturday for the 10th anniversary Blue Tie Ball! Together, we celebrated a decade of smashing the stigma around mental health and creating a brighter future for young people across Australia. Your generosity and engagement made the night one filled with connection, hope, and the power of community. 🙌 Thanks to your support, we’ve raised an incredible $202,682.29, allowing us to reach an additional 6,756 young people across Australia with stories of hope and resilience. This achievement goes far beyond the numbers – it represents the young lives that will be transformed, the stories that will be shared, and the future we are building together. Thank you for making an impact that will extend well beyond this one evening. A special thanks to our partners and sponsors, whose support made this event possible. From those who captured the night – Jason De Cox, No Filter Photo Booth, and Fujifilm instax Australia – to our beverage sponsors Stockade Brew Co., Brand's Laira Wines, Yulli's Group, Heaps Normal, Tim Wildman, Mr. Consistent, and Tito's Handmade Vodka, we couldn’t have done it without you. A big thank you as well to our event sponsors, Chambers Russell Lawyers, The Happiness Institute, and UNiDAYS. We would also like to extend our gratitude to The Blue Tie Ball Committee, our wonderful volunteers, and all the businesses and individuals who generously donated raffle prizes and auction items. A special thanks to our host for the evening, batyr Founder Sebastian Robertson; Katie Acheson, Aunty Joan Bell for the Welcome to Country; Auctioneer Toby Llewellyn; batyr storyteller Nic for sharing their inspiring story; and entertainment from Lawson, Tim Commandeur, and Brent Street. Stay tuned for more highlights from the night over the coming days!

We're so grateful for our monthly sessions with Dr. Tim Sharp! This morning, we had some great discussions about managing our own and others expectations as we head into the end of the year, along with thinking about what energises us and depletes us.

Every month I deliver and/or facilitate a #healthandwellbeing session with my friends at batyr. This morning we discussed how to make the most of the upcoming festive / summer break; or any break, really. I suggested we could all think about what energises us, and what drains or depletes us, and how we can do more of the former and less of the latter. But I also noted that that's much easier said than done; and that many of us have a "knowing-doing gap" (that difference between what we know we should do and what we actually do)! So, it's important to identify those things that make it difficult to do what you know will be helpful (e.g. beliefs about what others might think, or what will happen if you miss out on something etc) and then ... address / challenge those beliefs ("traps") that aren't serving you. None of us will ever get this (or anything, for that matter) 100% perfect but if we keep aiming towards "our best", we can all get better. WHAT DO YOU THINK? WHAT'S HELPED YOU DO MORE OF WHAT YOU KNOW YOU SHOULD DO? #work #stress #rest #recovery #health #mentalhealth #wellbeing

On Friday, a few members of the team attended the NSW Youth Conference, hosted by Liverpool City Council, Bankstown Council, and Fairfield City Council. Our involvement came about thanks to the initiative of passionate young people from the Liverpool Youth Council, who requested that their Community Engagement Officer approach us to be guest speakers. The insights shared by the young people were both inspiring and thought-provoking, with discussions ranging from legislation and cognitive function to emotional regulation. The positive feedback and high level of engagement reaffirm the importance of these community events in supporting youth mental health and fostering meaningful conversations. We are so proud to be a part of initiatives like these that continue to highlight the importance of young peoples voice's! Sophie Hogan Crystal Russom Corina Vargas
