BVAQ is thrilled to be attending this year's The Australian Institute of Food Science and Technology - AIFST Convention in Sydney! 🎉 We are always in full support of the food industry, particularly the science behind it. With our deep well of experience, expertise, and knowledge, we stand for "the people behind safe food". As they say, a picture paints a thousand words and this is just the tip of the iceberg, our technical powerhouse of food testing in BVAQ Australia is represented by some of our most distinguished professionals: Robbie Ibrahim (BD Executive) - with over 28 years in the business, Robbie has transitioned from Microbiologist to key Sales Executive, driving the growth of our team. Margaret Tentser (Technical Manager) - with 36 years in the business, is an active member of the Standards Australia Committee – FT-035 – Food Microbiology, contributing to the Microbiological Standards in Foods (AS 5013 series). She also serves on the ISO/TC 34/SC 9 Committee for Food Products Microbiology, an international organisation responsible for developing and approving Microbiological methods for food examination. Margaret is a participating expert in Working Group 8, focusing on the preparation of test samples, initial suspension, and decimal dilutions (Revision ISO 6887 series), collaborating closely with international ISO Committee experts. Jasmine Lacis-Lee (Food Safety Manager) currently holds professional memberships with the ASM (Australian Society of Microbiology), Fellow The Australian Institute of Food Science and Technology - AIFST, and European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group (EHEDG). She is the Chair and President of the Allergen Bureau, appointed as a Board Director in 2018. Jasmine is also proud to have established the Australian Regional division of the EHEDG and holds positions on the AIFST Scientific and Technical Advisory Committee, NATA Accreditation Advisory Committee and the AOAC Gluten & Food Allergen Working Group.
