Making it simpler and cheaper for farmers to integrate profitable carbon crops into their farming business.
About us
The CFF was founded to make it simpler and cheaper for farmers to integrate profitable carbon crops into their farming business. We’re breaking new ground with our do-it-yourself Carbon Farming model, where CFF provides resources, guidance, software, and support so landowners feel confident to successfully set up and manage their own carbon crops. We think landowners should come away with 95-100% of the carbon credits from their carbon crops. And as a registered not-for-profit, all profits that come into the organisation go back to helping Aussie farmers. The Carbon Farming Foundation (ABN 67 645 498 004) is a Corporate Authorised Representative (AFS Representative No.001298535) of True Oak Investments Ltd (ABN 81 002 558 956, AFSL 238184). The Clean Energy Regulator just released the Q3 Quarterly Carbon Market Report (QCMR) 🍃 This report is the go-to source for data on Australia’s carbon markets, giving a clear view of supply and demand trends across the market. Here’s what stood out this quarter: 💰 The spot price for Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs) has risen to $36.25, and land-based credits, especially those from environmental planting projects with 100-year permanence, are trading even higher. ANZ forecasts that the spot price will double over the next 12 months. 🌳A brilliant uptake in new projects with 182 registered in Q3 2024. The projects mainly focused on soil carbon and vegetation methods, with 57 projects being registered under the Environmental Planting method before it was sunsetted on 1 October. Both indicators point to growing demand and positive momentum in the carbon market. 🌱 Read the full report here: https://lnkd.in/giaHqwAG #farming #sustainableagriculture #climateaction #climatechange #sustainablefarming #environmentalsustainability #carboncredits

Why are we a not-for-profit? 🤔 At the Carbon Farming Foundation, we’re a registered charity driven by creating real, lasting change for Australia’s landscapes 🌱 Our mission? To provide high-quality carbon farming services that allow landholders to keep 100% of the Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs) they generate and help educate them along the way. While some carbon service providers take up to 40% of your ACCUs and lock you into lengthy contracts, we do things differently. With CFF, you only pay for the services you actually need. No hidden extras, no unnecessary add-ons. Just straightforward, fee-for-service support to help you achieve your goals. Being not-for-profit allows us to keep our fees fair. Any revenue we make supports the operation of the organisation or is invested back into educating and empowering landholders. And the best part? No lock-in contracts. You can pause or stop our services at any time, only paying for the services you’ve used. Want to learn more about how we’re helping Australian landowners earn carbon credits? The Australian Government is offering new grants to establish Plantation Forestry projects 🌱 The 3rd round of the Support Plantation Establishment (SPE) grant program is now open and is designed to support new long-rotation plantation forests in Australia. This initiative is set to help the plantation sector meet growing domestic demand for timber while supporting sustainable forestry practices. Learn more about the grant here: https://lnkd.in/gXrnN_ch How does this relate to carbon credits? 🌳 The SPE grant can work alongside a new Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCU) Scheme Plantation Forestry project. While previous rounds required ACCU Scheme approval before applying for the grant, this updated approach allows you to secure conditional SPE funding while your project is being assessed by the Clean Energy Regulator. Once your project is approved by the Regulator, the grant funding will be released. The Carbon Farming Foundation has extensive experience delivering successful projects under the ACCU Scheme Plantation Forestry method. The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) is inviting public feedback on a range of crucial matters 🌿 At CFF, we’re taking action. As a not-for-profit with a passion for environmental restoration, we’re committed to ensuring that changes to legislation supports the growth of carbon farming and benefits landholders across Australia. We recently submitted our expertise on the operation of the Nature Repair Market and proposed changes to the ACCU Scheme Transparency. Why? 🤔 Because it’s vital that these updates don’t just look good on paper—they need to work for the landholder they impact most. What does this mean for landholders? 🤔 It means we’re actively advocating for policies that encourage uptake while avoiding unnecessary complexities. Our submissions to DCCEEW outline practical steps to improve the systems that support carbon farming projects and nature restoration across Australia. 🌍 Read the full article to explore our recommendations here: https://lnkd.in/g4BUxWtH #farming #sustainableagriculture #climateaction #climatechange #sustainablefarming #environmentalsustainability #carboncredits
