This Mental Health Month, we are shining a light on the voices of our Allied Health professionals and team members. Join us as they share their valuable insights and experiences to help spread awareness and promote positive mental health and well-being. We asked our CEO of Care Squared, Rebecca Milloy, to share what she wishes people knew about mental health. As an Occupational Therapist, Rebecca has been able to provide a unique perspective on how our bodies can impact our mental health. Let's continue the conversation around mental health and create positive change in our community. #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealthMatters #MentalHealthMonth #ItsTimeToTalk #MentalWellness #MentalHealthAwareness #SupportMentalHealth #CareSquared #HumanityHealthGroup

This Carer's Week, we're thrilled to feature Jane, a dedicated carer in the disability sector, whose passion for making a difference is truly inspiring. During her interview, Jane shared her personal journey and the profound impact she makes in the lives of those she supports. With years of experience, Jane emphasises the importance of connection and the small, thoughtful actions that enhance the quality of life for participants and their families. Jane's path began with volunteering for a charity focused on empowering individuals, which opened doors to working in disability care. Her story highlights the critical need for self-care, team support, and staying true to your values - whether it's through choosing the right agency or engaging in meaningful conversations with peers. Her advice to fellow carers is both heartfelt and practical: Always bring your authentic self to work, continuously seek opportunities for self-improvement, and ensure your agency aligns with your values. A carer's role is fundamental not just for participants, but for their families too, as they provide an extension of care that deeply touches all lives involved. Let’s continue to support and appreciate the incredible work carers like Jane do every day. Thank you, Jane, for sharing your insights and dedication with us. Together, let's make a meaningful impact in the disability sector. #CarersWeek #DisabilitySupport #HumanConnection #carersaustralia #thankyoucarers #communitysupport #caresquared #alliedhealthprofessionals #humanityhealthgroup

Last week we saw extensive discussions in media outlets around key topics such as school refusal and inclusive classrooms and what needs to be done to help families across Australia. These are important conversations and shows the significance of specialist allied health and behaviour support workers to support families and children to provide an integrated support model which extends from home to school. Humanity Health Group's Care Squared Kids and Care Squared businesses have extensive experience in working with teachers, parents, and educational support staff to assess, plan, and implement tailored programs that help students achieve their full potential and goals at school. Last week, Dr Kylie Henderson spoke with Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) Brisbane Drive presenter Cathie Schnitzerling to discuss the urgent need for a national approach to be able to provide these much-needed services in Australian schools. Currently, the rules are inconsistent across Australia and are different per state. We are calling for a more uniformed approach, so it is easier for families to engage allied health staff at school. Listen to the discussion below. Would love to hear your thoughts.
