🌍📚 Excited to share the launch of the sixth GEM Regional Report, focusing on technology in education across the Pacific! -- https://lnkd.in/ggmyvUKJ This report, developed in partnership with the Commonwealth of Learning (COL) and UNESCO, highlights both the challenges and opportunities that digital technology brings to education in this vast and diverse region. Covering 17 countries, from Australia to Vanuatu, the report dives into the ways technology can transform education and overcome barriers like limited infrastructure and costly internet connectivity. At Catalpa, we were proud to be engaged by UNESCO to contribute to this important report. Our paper provided insights on how digital tools and platforms can improve learning outcomes, enhance teacher training, and support education systems in remote areas. With the population scattered across 30 million square kilometers, the Pacific faces unique challenges. Yet, the potential for technology to connect students, teachers, and communities is immense. The report offers a roadmap for integrating digital solutions into education systems, aligned with the Pacific Regional Education Framework (PacREF) policy areas: quality and relevance, learning pathways, student outcomes and wellbeing, and the teaching profession. A huge congratulations to everyone who worked on this project, and we look forward to seeing the lasting impact these insights will have across the region. 🌐✨ #EducationForAll #DigitalImpact #PacificEducation #TechnologyInEducation #GEMReport #UNESCO #Catalpa #LearningWithoutBorders

Check this out! 🚀 Raphaël Merx recently gave Google’s AI podcast-generating tool a spin using some content from the Catalpa website. The result? It worked nicely—smooth, engaging, and lots of market jargon -- and a wild leap. Listen to it here -- https://lnkd.in/grU97kP5 Things are moving fast in the world of AI, it is transforming how we create and deliver content. Tools like this make it easier to reimagine the way we tell stories and consume information. Really excited, and nervous, to see where this goes, who knows perhaps a podcast of our next project report, Or using AI to develop micro-learning content in health and education. Are you experimenting with AI in your Int Dev ToolKit? Would love to hear your thoughts! #AI #Innovation #DigitalTransformation #Catalpa

MUST WATCH: We had an incredible time hosting a workshop at Catalpa’s Dili office, bringing together 23 aspiring Timorese entrepreneurs to explore innovative approaches to small business development. The workshop, conducted in collaboration with MOVE, covered essential concepts like lean and agile methodologies, human-centered design, and creating a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for exceptional customer care. Jose Maria Pinto, one of the participants, shared his experience: “The event at Catalpa was excellent. What I found most interesting were the practical activities of the agile methodology of Lean Canvas and the product validation test with MVP. The activities were directly applied to our business ideas, which helped us visualize the future implementation of our projects. Besides the activities, the speakers were also very good! Overall, the event was great. I hope there will be more events like this in the future, so we can help people, especially future young entrepreneurs. I believe that many people are still not familiar with the Lean Canvas and MVP methods.” Fernando from Kios Matenek added, “The place was fresh and fun, and the people were friendly. Such a good environment for learning new things!” We’re thrilled to have provided a platform for these young innovators to gain practical insights and tools to help them thrive in a challenging and complex marketplace. We look forward to hosting more events like this to support the growth and success of Timor-Leste’s future entrepreneurs! We deeply appreciate the invaluable contributions and support from Rotario Delgado da Silva, Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI), Nivio M. Benevides MPM (New Zealand Embassy), and Maria dos Reis of Market Development Facility (MDF).

Catalpa was honored to host an interactive workshop at our Dili office for 23 aspiring Timorese entrepreneurs, focused on innovative approaches to small business development. In collaboration with MOVE ONG, the workshop covered key concepts such as adopting lean & agile methodologies, utilising human-centered design approaches and creating a Minimum Viable Product (MVP), and delivering exceptional customer care. These hands-on sessions were designed to provide practical insights and tools to help these young entrepreneurs thrive in a challenging and complex marketplace. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Rotario Delgado da Silva of the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI), Nivio M. Benevides., MPM of the New Zealand Embassy, and Maria dos Reis of the Market Development Facility Market Development Facility (MDF) for their invaluable contributions and support. This collaboration was a fantastic opportunity for knowledge sharing and mutual learning. "Human-centered design and agile methodologies are innovative approaches that can benefit both digital and non-digital businesses in complex environments like the Timor market,” explains Pedro Almeida, Product Lead for Catalpa. “Building an entrepreneurial ecosystem is critical for Timor’s economic development and diversification, especially in a country where the biggest income still comes from oil. By showing young entrepreneurs how to innovate through HCD and agile methodologies, we believe we can make a significant difference. Applying these tools to small businesses in Timor makes complete sense, as it maximizes efficiency with scarce resources and reduces risk as much as possible."
