  • ⫸ 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝘄𝗶𝗻 & 𝗔𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 | 𝗝𝗼𝗯𝘀 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝘄 & 𝗕𝗶𝘁𝗲𝘀 In February and March 2025, our Workforce Australia Local Jobs team proudly presented the inaugural Jobs Brew and Bites pop-up job fairs in Alice Springs and Darwin. These events were a fantastic success, attracting 71 jobseekers across both locations, drawn by 50 vacancies advertised by 17 employers. Thank you, our members, local employers, employment services providers, and training providers for your collaboration to make these events successful in helping connecting jobseekers with employment opportunities. Jobseekers received invaluable support from on-site representatives of training and support providers, including Charles Darwin University TAFE, STEPS, and Creative Train Achieve. ✦ In Alice Springs, the event was hosted in the Chamber NT's venue, an excellent choice thanks to its central location. The adjacent local coffee shop honoured event vouchers and provided a delicious selection of muffins to accompany the excellent coffee. ✦ In Darwin, the event was sponsored by The Novotel Esplanade, which also catered jobseekers with barista coffee and baked treats. The tropical atmosphere of the location received many positive comments. We are still gathering feedback and following up with jobseekers and employers, but the initial successes suggest that these events will become a regular pop-up in the future. Stay tuned for more updates and future events! The Chamber NT welcome the changes from both Federal and Northern Territory Governments, and in particular the high priority given to the workforce development in our region. Since 2015, the NT DAMA has enabled local employers to address their unique economic and labour market needs with a level of flexibility that is not available in standard skilled migration programs The NT DAMA III allows for up to 1,500 approved nominations per year for overseas workers on a Skills in Demand or Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional visa, an increase from the 625 annual nominations facilitated under the previous agreement.
