The Sydney Water EOI is now live - to be a part of the Circular Economy Zone development, visit buy.nsw: https://lnkd.in/eXYSDHFF
Are you looking to develop an innovative circular economy project? Then we want to hear from you. Sydney Water has released an Expression of Interest (EOI) seeking proposals to lease and develop 12 hectares of land in Kemps Creek known as the Circular Economy Zone (CEZ). The CEZ will enable Sydney Water’s vision of an eco-industrial park that activates the circular economy in the Aerotropolis and play a vital role in ensuring it becomes a resilient and sustainable city where people want to live, work and visit. This flagship site is adjacent to our Advanced Water Recycling Centre, next to the M12 motorway, and five kilometres from the Western Sydney International Airport. We’re looking for partners and projects to unlock new circular economic products and services including driving change in waste management, use of recycled water and renewable energy production. Whether you’re an individual proponent, joint venture or a partnership involving waste specialists, property funds, developers, technology firms and financiers seeking long-term investment and sustainability projects – there could be opportunities for you. Last week was a significant step in advancing #circularprecincts across Australia, with the delivery of our Circular Precincts Accelerator. Hosted in partnership with Aurecon, workshop facilitators Lisa McLean and Jenni Philippe guided a diverse cohort of senior leaders — spanning local and state government, water, food and retail, batteries and more — through a practical 4-step process to activate circular precincts, arming participants with the knowledge and skills for implementation in their own localities. The group workshopped steps from the recent precincts report and guide, including: 1️⃣ Engage and Explore Bring stakeholders onboard early to understand the system, shape the vision and build long lasting capability and trust. 2️⃣ Design and Deliver Establish hard infrastructure that allows for sharing of resources and regeneration of natural ecosystems. 3️⃣ Attract and Activate Create an environment that attracts investments and enables synergies across the community, businesses and nature. 4️⃣ Monitor and Manage Collect data and insights to measure progress, performance, outcomes, share successes and learnings, and effectively manage and adapt operations. It was also a highly collaborative session, allowing for the sharing of knowledge and success stories, and enabling new connections across sectors and settings to support the development of existing and future precincts. A massive thank you to our attendees, the team at Aurecon Jenni Philippe Rowenna Walker GAICD Melinda Rosser Jodie Bricout Lauren Jewell Elke Malsom Cassie Snodgrass Vilde Kvaalsvold and Circular Australia Lisa McLean Louella Carr 👉 Read 4-step guide: https://lnkd.in/gfgiQcdR #CircularEconomy #Precincts #Accelerator #Workshop #Collaboration #KnowledgeSharing #Education #Training #Innovation

Sydney Water will release an Expression of Interest (EOI) in early 2025 seeking proposals to develop and lease 12 hectares of land in Kemps Creek known as the Circular Economy Zone (CEZ). The CEZ will enable Sydney Water’s vision of an eco-industrial park that activates the circular economy in the Aerotropolis growth area and play a vital role in ensuring it becomes a resilient and sustainable city where people want to live, work and visit. The site sits adjacent to the Advanced Water Recycling Centre (AWRC), next to the M12 motorway, and five kilometres from the Western Sydney International Airport. This is a flagship site presenting a unique range of opportunities to drive systemic change in waste management, potentially harness wastewater recycling and water management synergies with the AWRC, undertake renewable energy production, and produce a host of potential circular economic products and services. The opportunity is ideal for either individual proponents, joint ventures or partnerships involving waste specialists, property funds, developers, and financiers seeking long-term investment and sustainability projects. Sydney Water’s key objective for the CEZ is to activate the circular economy by unlocking the value of the site through suitably aligned industries who will bring best practice, innovative thinking and a collaborative approach to deliver this project. The EOI will be released early 2025 via buy.nsw.
