Coles Little Athletics Australia is the national body for Little Athletics in Australia and is a unique athletics program for ages 5 -15 years. Across Australia, more than 100,000 girls and boys enjoy the activities of Little Athletics and we promote the importance to "Be your Best". Collectively with our State Associations we work to ensure the emphasis of Little Athletics is on fun, participation, performance, technique and getting involved with your family in physical and healthy activity.

  • Nothing beats the feeling of unwrapping new sporting equipment! 🥳🥏 Thanks to the 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐀𝐭𝐡𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐝 - 𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝟗 saw 43 Little Athletics Centres shared in $150,000 worth of sports equipment grants. Including new equipment, ranging from safety equipment like first aid kits to volunteering aids such as laptops and trolleys as well as essential athletics equipment including hurdles, high jump mats, discuses and shot puts. The Coles Little Athletics Community Fund was made possible from money raised through annual 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐀𝐭𝐡𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐀-𝐏𝐞𝐞𝐥, which raises funds for grassroots Little Athletics Centres from the sales of bananas at Coles during the week of Australian Banana Week.   • Coles Little Athletics Australia Life Member Announcement Andrew Duncan At the Little Athletics Australia Annual General Meeting held Saturday 26 October 2024 𝐀𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐰 𝐃𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐚𝐧 was awarded Life Membership of Little Athletics Australia. Life Membership is the highest honour that Little Athletics Australia can bestow on an individual to recognise long-term national contributions to Little Athletics. Andrew is the 24th individual to be awarded Life Membership of Little Athletics Australia in the 60 years of Little Athletics in Australia. Andrew is a quintessential Little Athletics volunteer; knowledgeable, kind and generous to a fault with his knowledge and experience. Andrew commands absolute respect amongst his Little Athletics peers- from Centre ; up to National level - for the sheer size of his contribution he has made to the movement over two decades. Andrew has worked tirelessly over decades to improve the competition experience of our athletes through the continual revision of rules and regulations. Accordingly, the highest competition levels of our sport - State and National Championship events - retain a very high level of credibility and profile within the Australian sporting landscape and continue to inspire young athletes. Andrew possesses a comprehensive and deep technical understanding of athletics facilities. Many Centres have benefitted from Andrew's generous sharing of knowledge and expertise, resulting in modern, innovative and outstanding design and refurbishments, and greatly improved athletics outcomes for athletes, families, volunteers and facility managers. Andrew is at the forefront of Technology in Sport, often implementing his own bespoke solutions, which he readily shares with everyone for the betterment of the Sport. National roles held by Andrew have included National Competition & Standards Director, National Technical Committee Chair, for the Australian Little Athletics Championships; Competition Manager, Committee Member, Meeting Manager, in addition to his numerous State and Centre roles. He remains a member of the National Competition Committee. Andrew was inducted into the Little Athletics Australia Hall of Fame in the volunteer category in 2022.

  • The 2024 Coles Group Community Round is officially underway! Over the next 2 weeks over 350 Little Athletics Centre's across Australia will dash on the Coles red, to celebrate the wonderful partnership between Coles and Little Athletics. Australian track and field stars including Paris gold medalists Nina Kennedy and James Turner will be returning to grassroots Little Athletics Centres over the next two weeks to inspire the next generation of Aussie athletes. The Paris champions will be joined by 2024 Olympic and Paralympic heroes Matthew Denny, Kelsey-Lee Barber, Jaryd Clifford, Brandon Starc, Mackenzie Little, Reece Langdon, Cameron McEntyre as well as Sally Pearson OAM, whose legacy was recently recognised with induction into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame. The 15 Coles and Little Athletics Australia ambassadors will visit over 60 Little Athletics Centres from Wednesday, 6 November to Tuesday, 19 November to motivate young athletes. In addition to sharing training tips and nutritional advice, the ambassadors will join in the fun of Coles Community Round by taking on the kids in banana themed races and games, as well as delivering new equipment to Centres that have recently received funding from the Coles Little Athletics Community Fund.
