Did you know? 📣 Acknowledgement of Country and Welcome to Country are important processes that recognise the unique position of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in Australian culture, and history as the Traditional Custodians of the land. Taking the time to Acknowledge Country, or including a Welcome to Country at significant events, reminds us that every day we live, work, and dream on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Country.    Protocols for welcoming visitors to Country have always been a part of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. When permission was granted the hosting group would welcome the visitors, offering them safe passage and protection during their travels.    A Welcome to Country is delivered by the Traditional Custodians of land, or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who have been given permission from the Traditional Custodians to provide a welcome.    An Acknowledgement of Country can be conducted by an Aboriginal person who is not a Traditional Custodian, or a non-Aboriginal person. An Acknowledgement of Country is an opportunity for anyone to show respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, culture, and history. An Acknowledgement can be adapted to reflect a range of different contexts and formats. At Collar Momentum , our aim is to provide employment and training recruitment services nationally.
