We’ve spent time in Bosch Auto’s mechanic workshop, taken duck cooking classes, graduated from the Dulux paint academy and travelled to Proserpine to get hands on with some prawns. There’s nothing more rewarding than watching our clients soar. This week, Tassal won gold at the Australian Marketing Institute’s (AMI) 2024 Marketing Excellence Awards for Brand Revitalisation. This achievement highlights their impressive journey in expanding their brand from just salmon to include barramundi and prawns. During the rollout of their new positioning, our PR team secured extensive media coverage across TV, print, online, and social platforms. CMC worked diligently to support the launch to trade, organise and host summer events, manage media kits for sampling, and identify key storytelling moments where seafood could be celebrated. Our favourite part? Working with ambassadors Guy Turland (of course), who created bespoke recipes featuring Tassal seafood, which we make in our own home; and the impressive Susie Burrell who has been our go-to for all things nutrition. So when we were tasked with communicating the science behind Biozet Attack laundry detergent, we wanted a visual that would stop people in their tracks and show the smarts that go into every product, without a washing machine or an ocean wave in sight. Yesterday marked the release of Campaign Brief’s ‘The Work 2024’ – recognised for 22 years as a true record of creativity for the entire region and featuring the very best advertising of the year from Asia, Australia & NZ. This year there were 4,189 entries overall, across 234 agencies and production companies in APAC. And we’re really proud to announce Communicado made the cut with not one, but six acceptances, ranking us 21st in Aus and 70th out of 163 top Asia Pacific agencies. Not bad for a ‘can do’ indie out of Melbourne 😉 We were selected for: ✔️BabyLove Beyond, in both the ‘Film/TV Craft - Cinematography’ & ‘Film/TV Craft - Direction’ categories ✔️Sun Monkey Product Launch for both the ‘Local Culture & Insights’ & ‘PR’ categories ✔️Petstock Aus Fashion Week for both the ‘Branded Content + Entertaiment’ & ‘PR’ categories. Always an honour to nurture upcoming talent. For the past few months, our office has been the home to AWARD School, with our associate CD's Simon Fleming & Christopher Buchanan, mentoring two groups of students. Now our ECD, Annie Price, is judging the folios. Good luck to all students and congrats on your epic 12 week journey.
Thanks Advertising Council Australia, I'm excited to kick off Award School judging tomorrow in one of my favourite categories of all time - Radio. Looking forward to seeing what the next gen of talent have been up to. Also - Big shout out to my superstar team Christopher Buchanan & Simon Fleming for giving up their time to tutor this year. Award School is a two way street, you learn as you teach. Love it.
