Proud ‘deadly members’ of Reconciliation WA We stand by Three. Do you?
Member Mondays - Member Spotlight! We would like to give a shout out to one of our deadly members Communicare They shared our #istandbythree campaign showing their commitment to recognising all three flags which shape and represent Australia. This is a powerful stance to take in the current climate, and showcases their active allyship and dedicated leadership to amplifying First Nations voices. Well done to Alira Kelly, Merinda March and the whole Communicare team!

As an organisation, Communicare stands by three flags as a powerful symbol of inclusion, respect, and unity. These flags represent real people, real histories, and the promise of a future where everyone belongs. Inclusion is not just about words—it’s about action. We refuse to be distracted by those who choose to look away, to stand apart, or to diminish the significance of First Nations representation. True change demands courage. If nothing changes, nothing changes. This is our call to be brave, to be bold, and to stand—together, with pride, and without hesitation—for a more just and inclusive future. Today marks the anniversary of the 2008 National Apology to the Stolen Generations. Government estimates suggest that from 1910 to the 1970’s, between 1 in 3 and 1 in 10 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children were forcibly removed from their families due to government policies and practices. The anniversary of the National Apology is more than a day to acknowledge the past. It is a day to remind us to do better in the future. Survivors of the Stolen Generations still live with the trauma of their experiences. Many struggle to access support services. We owe it to those survivors, their descendants, and all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to use today to listen, learn and walk together on the journey of truth-telling and healing. Communicare is committed to learn from our history and continue to strive for an Australia where everyone feels safe, connected and heard. Step one: Believe her.
Despite being the economic powerhouse of the nation, WA has the second highest rates of family and domestic violence in the country. The next government must address the crisis of violence against women in Western Australia and support the services who are under untenable strain and significantly underfunded to meet growing need. This upcoming State Election, we are: ➡️ Advocating for specialist family and domestic violence services to save lives ➡️ Demanding justice, accountability, and support for victim-survivors of sexual violence ➡️ Prioritising women’s health and ensuring services are accessible We must do everything we can to save lives and ensure women and children are able to live free of violence. Visit cwsw.org.au/believe to join us in calling for this election to work towards a safer, healthier future for all women and children.
