This month, we’re delighted to celebrate Kennedy Potter’s three-year anniversary as a Litigation Investment Manager at Court House Capital. During this time, Kennedy has expertly managed litigation funding for numerous commercial disputes, helping corporate clients mitigate costs and risks. Her work has also empowered hundreds of group claimants to access justice through class actions. As Kennedy says, “I love my job! I assess and manage funding for single cases, portfolios and group claims across diverse legal areas such as insurance, insolvency, employment law, product liability and more. I collaborate with top law firms and experts across Australia and New Zealand, and am proud to be part of an industry that helps individuals and businesses pursue their rights.” Kennedy joined us in 2021, bringing extensive experience in insurance litigation from her roles at Marsh McLennan, MS Amlin, and Wotton + Kearney. She also served as Legal Counsel in EY’s Oceania disputes team and is an active member of The Association of Litigation Funders of Australia (AALF). Here’s to Kennedy’s continued success and the positive impact she makes in the industry! #courthousecapital #kennedypotter #litigationfunding #legalfinance #classactions

Court House Capital Chief Investment Officer Heather Collins GAICD recently featured in an article by Laurel Henning at Capital Brief discussing trends in Australian litigation funding, the changing class action landscape and the role of specialised lawyers in group claims. 🔔 This week's edition of Prima Facie was kickstarted by a really interesting conversation I had a couple of weeks ago with Heather Collins GAICD at Court House Capital. We talked all things litigation funding, the changing class action landscape and the role of specialised lawyers in group claims. Throw in some more conversations around the grounds, plus King & Wood Mallesons' fortunately timed class action report and with input from Heather, KWM's Peta Stevenson + Eleanor Atkins and Maurice Blackburn Lawyers' Rebecca Gilsenan ... it all came together! https://lnkd.in/g5Y-VTcK Also this week: ⚖ On Monday, I reported on Pogust Goodhead's plans to file its first three lawsuits in Australia by the end of the year, following an interview with Thomas Goodhead. ➕ 🎄 With merger law changes, consultations on AI+ consumer law AND a ban on unfair trading practices, are the ACCC's regulatory Christmases all coming at once?

Fantastic result for the Court House Capital team - who doesn’t love a case with Robbie Williams and the Grand Prix!!!!
Court House Capital welcomes today's Supreme Court of Victoria judgment in the World Touring Melbourne action against the Australian Grand Prix Corporation. In his judgment, Supreme Court Justice Clyde Croft ruled in WTM's favour and ordered AGPC to pay damages of $2.84M plus costs and interest to WTM as a result of the concert cancellation. Court House Capital has supported WTM in its action against AGPC for the direction it gave on 13 March 2020 that Robbie Williams' Grand Prix concert must be cancelled. This is a great example of the benefits of litigation funding in commercial disputes which enabled WTM to seek justice and win against a far larger litigant. Well done to the team at Gadens including SIMON THEODORE Hannah McGuire and the counsel team of Nick De Young KC, Ben Gibson, Christopher Fitzgerald #litigationfunders #litigationfunding #litigation #legalfinace #CourtHouseCapital #CourtHouseCapitalAustralia #commercialitigation #australiangrandprix #grandprix
