A different angle to improving #mobility for Tasmanians beyond providing technical guidance - this time it's looking at #transport regulations. Today is the start of the eight week public consultation period for the Tasmanian e-bike regulations review project - https://lnkd.in/eNb8vZkb Consultation is from 16 September to 11:00 am 11 November 2024. In 2023, the Tasmanian Government committed to reviewing e-bike regulations to manage user needs, ensure public safety and consider whether changes are needed. The Department of State Growth (Tas) has been since been investigating options for potential e-bike regulatory changes. This has been done through undertaking background research and targeted stakeholder engagement to ensure any potential changes are fit for purpose in Tasmania. With the assistance of Jerryn Zwart, Xanthia Dubler and the rest of the team at Zwart Transport Planning, plus everyone else across the department that reviewed and critiqued, we've published a Green Paper, which I'm quite proud of. Thank you! Additional thanks to Connie Steers and everyone that participated in roundtables. We're asking the broader community to provide feedback via an online survey, with feedback to be used to inform a White Paper. My favourite bits of the Green Paper are: - the personas that will hopefully make it just that little bit easier for the community to understand what might be potential impacts if change were to occur - the fact that we didn't only use the traditional transport lens, but also looked at health, well-being and the environment.
