Safety is everyone's business...wherever that "business" takes place. It's easier than you think to put in place proactive, preventative and tangible controls which are easy to implement and actually make a difference in more than one area of your business. The old "work smarter, not harder" applies to risk management too! 🖥️ We'd love to show you how desk.coach® is one of those controls. Proudly supporting Safe Work Australia #Prevention #WFH #RiskManagement #WorkplaceHealth #SafetySpotlight

Today we’re shining the #SafetySpotlight on working from home 🔦 Homes and living arrangements vary, and so do the risks. WHS laws apply to home workplaces just as they do to traditional office workplaces. If you are a PCBU, you still have a WHS duty to those working from home. A range of issues need to be considered before working from home arrangements are agreed and you may need to change how work is done. Learn more about the risk management fundamentals when working from home by reading ‘Working from home: PCBU information sheet’ on our website - https://lnkd.in/gaZcUBvH #SafeWorkMonth #SafetyIsOurBusiness

Did you know less than half of all Australian businesses report being innovation-active? Dedicating resources to come up with something genuinely innovative is difficult. That’s why we’re excited to reveal the finalists in the 2024 Finder Innovation Awards and celebrate the brands that are working hard to create change. This year’s Awards covered 19 different categories including the best innovation in Apps, Travel, Tech, B2B, Telco and many more. The competition was tough, and we saw several brands shortlisted in industries that aren’t typically known for innovation. For instance, seven insurance brands have been shortlisted across categories like Social Impact and Insurance. Finalists include QBE Insurance, Butter Insurance, Fast Cover Travel Insurance, Medibank, Pet Insurance Australia, Huddle and ROLLiN' Insurance . We also received impressive entries from brands in industries that are known for breaking the mould. In the running for the best Digital Assets and Web3 innovation include Swyftx, Verida and Monochrome. Other brands from this space like Trezor and RelayPay are also in the running to win awards for the best innovation in Investing as well as Banking and Payments. The battle for the Online Customer Service Innovation award is now down to four brands from various industries across lending, retail, investing and deathcare. Our finalists for this category are Tiger Brokers Australia, Bare , Sealy of Australia and Beforepay Group. In retail land, we’d like to recognise Dreame Technology, JURA Australia Espresso Pty Ltd, Koala, Emma – The Sleep Company, Dermal Therapy by LaCorium Health , Naked Sundays SPF, ghd, PerkyPod and Glow Dreaming for their innovations in a range of product categories including beauty, mattresses and home appliances. You can find the full list of shortlisted brands here: https://lnkd.in/gNEfdsxX Congratulations to the 2024 finalists for making it this far. We’ll be announcing the final results later this month so stay tuned to find out who the winners are.

October is #SafeWorkMonth in Australia. For office workers, it's an important reminder to address not just physical hazards but also psychological risks in the workplace. We want to share the story of one of our team members, Chia-Fu Liu (Jeffrey), and how changing work norms made a profound impact on his life. Jeffrey came from a work environment where the focus was always on performance—"Is IT okay?" instead of "Are YOU okay?" As a project manager, his days were filled with questions about deadlines and deliverables, but rarely about his wellbeing. It was only when he took a day off or was momentarily free from his job that anyone asked how he was doing. And even then, he often didn't feel okay. But he kept quiet because he assumed everyone else was struggling too. Jeffrey's experience is not unique. Millions of employees endure similar struggles, feeling trapped in a culture where admitting mental vulnerability is discouraged. There is a true need to disrupt these toxic norms. While it might be challenging to shift safety management across an entire organization, employees can begin to make a difference by taking steps to support their own mental health and create a positive work culture. At desk.coach®, we provide compliance tools and resources to help employees build healthier and safer workplaces from the ground up. We believe it's crucial to empower everyone to speak up about both physical and mental health concerns, encouraging conversations about all aspects of workplace safety. We celebrate Jeffrey for his courage in sharing his story with us. Here at desk.coach, we encourage him—and everyone—to express themselves freely. It's okay to be happy, anxious, confident, or quiet. And most importantly, it's okay not to fake your feelings. Wellbeing and safety are always the first priority. And that goes for you too. -Learn more about us: https://lnkd.in/gDpSF2hN #WorkplaceHealth #MentalHealth #WHS #SafetyIsOurBusiness

October is #SafeWorkMonth in Australia. For office workers, it's an important reminder to address not just physical hazards but also psychological risks in the workplace... I am the one who realise how changing work norms could make a profound impact. Before I cam to Australia, I worked in a work environment where the focus was always on performance—"Is IT okay?" instead of "Are YOU okay?" As a project manager, my days were filled with questions about deadlines and deliverables, but rarely about my wellbeing. It was only when I took a day off or was momentarily free from my job that anyone asked how I was doing. Still, I often didn't feel okay. But I kept quiet because I thought everyone else was struggling too. There are millions of employees endure similar struggles, feeling trapped in a culture where admitting mental vulnerability is discouraged. There is a true need to disrupt these toxic norms. And that's what my current team, desk.coach®, is dedicated to. While it might be challenging to shift safety management across an entire organization, employees can begin to make a difference by taking steps to support their own mental health and create a positive work culture.
