The Women’s Economic Security and Wellbeing Report 2025 is here! While progress is being made—the gender pay gap has dropped to 12.6%—women still face significant barriers to financial security. 15.4% of women retire with no personal income and women hold a disproportionate share of unsecure, lower-paid jobs. That’s why the Queensland Government is taking action: •more funding for domestic violence services and legal assistance •restoring maternity services in Biloela and Cooktown hospitals •funding a mobile breast screening van •greater support for women in leadership and STEM Achieving gender equality isn’t just the right thing to do—it’s essential for Queensland’s economic success. Let’s work together to create a future where all women thrive. 📖 Read the full report and see what’s changing: https://lnkd.in/guGzMYYM #WomensEconomicSecurity #GenderEquality #WomeninQLD

Queensland Women's Week is just around the corner, taking place from 2-9 March 🎉 In the spirit of recognising women in our state who inspire us, we wanted to spotlight Jacqueline and Chantelle, two young women from Aurukun in North Queensland who participated in the prestigious Queensland Young Indigenous Leaders Program (QIYLP) 2024. Jacqueline has completed training at Oxley Police Academy and is now Aurukun’s newest Police Liaison Officer, transitioning from roles as a youth leader at PCYC Aurukun and a teacher aide. Chantelle has become Queensland’s youngest Police Liaison Officer and a recognised youth leader at PCYC Aurukun. As Aurukun’s Young Citizen of the Year, she also actively mentors and advocates for her community, fostering ties between the Queensland Police Service and local young people. We can’t get over how deadly these two young women are!
