About us
The Epilepsy Foundation uses evidence-based practice to stop avoidable deaths, ensure children get a good education, help people get and keep their jobs and help people feel safe and connected. A good understanding of epilepsy is the key to achieving these outcomes. The Epilepsy Foundation believes no one should go it alone with epilepsy. Today our hearts are overflowing with love ❤️ Walk for Epilepsy fundraiser in support of the Epilepsy Foundation of Australia finished yesterday. Team Mikky Moo consisting of Harriet Amos, Gillian Metz AFSM and myself walked a combined 482km, all meeting our 100km targets. This year we have had some amazing support in not only reaching but exceeding our individual and team fundraising goals as well. A huge thank you to everyone that was in a position to donate this year for helping us raise $4,031 for the Epilepsy Foundation. This is our fourth year undertaking by the Walk for Epilepsy. With the support of our amazing donors over those four years a total of $13,786 has been raised. This brings happy tears to our eyes 🥲. I am lucky to volunteer some of my time to support the Epilepsy Foundation on a Rare and Genetic Epilepsy Consumer Advisory Group. Through this I have seen some of the amazing work that the foundation does to support families like ours ❤️❤️. I hope that the daily posts during this fundraiser has helped increase your knowledge of Epilepsy and the daily struggles it brings on individuals and families. THANK YOU to all that donated or took the time to read or share our posts. Much Love to you all from Team Mikky Moo

This is your last chance to share your voice in the Global Epilepsy Needs Study (GENS)! The International Bureau for Epilepsy (IBE) is leading a groundbreaking research study, GENS, to better understand the diverse needs and challenges faced by individuals living with epilepsy and their caregivers worldwide. Epilepsy affects more than 50 million people globally, yet there remains a significant gap in understanding the full scale of its impact on individuals and communities. GENS seeks to bridge this gap by collecting comprehensive data and firsthand insights from those directly affected by epilepsy. This understanding is essential for driving meaningful change. Participate in the Global Epilepsy Needs Study and help understand the challenges faced by individuals with epilepsy and their carers worldwide. Survey closes 31 October 2024. On behalf of the Epilepsy Foundation, it’s staff, ambassadors and sponsors, and people living with epilepsy, we would like to thank everyone who supported Victoria and New South Wales in Walk for Epilepsy 2024 👟 The steps might stop today, but the donations don't have to 👟💜 Please continue to show your support over the coming weeks by donating to the Epilepsy Foundation. We are proud to work with incredible national partners, including Epilepsy ACT, The Epilepsy Centre (SA/NT), Epilepsy Tasmania, Epilepsy Queensland and Epilepsy WA 🤝 Please also continue to donate to these organisations and show your support for the great work they do 🙌💜 A shout out goes to Nexon Asia Pacific and UCB for their generosity and support throughout the campaign 🤝 Without national sponsors like these, much of the campaign work we do would not be possible.
