"We’re told a highlight of the visit was when students took the project’s surveying gear for a spin in a designated safe area. The practical session using GPS technology gave them insight into how surveying can contribute to the development of digital engineering designs." ESO Surveyors are proud to be part of this initiative where team members got to engage with WIRREANDA HIGH SCHOOL students from the Clontarf Foundation Academy and share their skills and knowledge. Thanks, CPB Contractors for the share, and for encouraging great initiatives like this! #CommunityEngagement #EsoSurveyors #NextGenerationSurveyors

Taking #SurveyingTechnology 👾 for a spin and a chat about the variety of #ConstructionCareers 🚧 our industry can offer! Our CPB Contractors team, delivering the Department for Infrastructure and Transport's Fleurieu Connections Alliance (FCA) project, was thrilled to recently host WIRREANDA HIGH SCHOOL students from the Clontarf Foundation Academy at their Aldinga compound. Guests heard from project team members in various roles, including Surveying, Human Resources, supervisors, and our General Superintendent. Revelling in the chance to share their personal career stories, our people gave insights into the skills and qualifications they had when they entered the industry, the skills and experience they’ve gained on the job since, and, most valuably, connect with this group of local young men to hear their own stories and career aspirations. We’re told a highlight of the visit was when students took the project’s surveying gear for a spin in a designated safe area. The practical session using GPS technology gave them insight into how surveying can contribute to the development of digital engineering designs. CPB Contractors is proud to be a national Clontarf Foundation partner, and bring local inspiration-sparking events like these to communities across Australia. We take immense pride in staying on top of software development, to enable us to provide even better services to our clients.🤝 🥇 Part of our Survey Data Management Team recently had the rewarding experience of attending the 12d Tech Forum in Brisbane where they delved deeper into the software's development and expanding application. It was a day well spent for the team connecting with industry colleagues and learning how others push the boundaries of what is possible with 12d. ESO Surveyors owns and operates a number of TLS systems that provide comprehensive and cost-effective solutions for: ✅ Reality Capture as a prelude to design, and ✅ Work-as-executed data of constructed elements for the purposes of design comparison or record. Our data can be delivered as a point cloud, extracted linework or fully modelled surfaces depending on our client’s needs and purpose. Watch an example laser scanning project video here for more insights: https://lnkd.in/ggAK8zek #LaserScanning #RealityCapture #ESOsurveyors

We are pleased to see a spotlight on our very own Michelle Grose. Her well-deserved recognition reflects her invaluable contributions to our team. 👏 ⭐ Get to know more about Michelle below or catch up with her and other ESO Surveyors at the SA Spatial Information Day (SID) next Friday 16th August! #WomanInCivil #EmployeeRecognition

For our 'WOW' this week, we are putting the spotlight on one of our WIC committee members, Michelle Grose from ESO Surveyors 👷♀️🌟 ❓ What do you enjoy most about working in civil?  👉🏼 The people and the projects. I’ve worked on countless amazing, iconic projects across Australia that I am so proud to have played a part in. So many of the people I have worked with over my 32 year career, solely in surveying, are still in my life. These friends come from all walks of life, come from a vast range of roles and are generally wonderful people. Working on high pressure, fast paced projects connects colleagues quite solidly.  ❓ Is there a project that impacted your career significantly?  👉🏼 The Lane Cove Tunnel Project. Wednesday 2nd November 2005 at 1:30am, my work phone rang. We had a tunnel collapse at the site I managed survey on. Thankfully no one was killed but many were mentally affected by the incident. Sydney was thrown into chaos starting from the early morning traffic rush. It wasn’t until March 2006 that we were able to begin the recovery process. I worked with all disciplines, Australia wide and international, in the investigation and re-design of the area. I learned so much about survey/design/engineering and expanded my 3D design capabilities quickly to remediate the collapse site. I’m so proud of my role in the entire process. ❓ What key skills have you developed working within civil? 👉🏼 I’d like to think that these have changed over the years. The learning never stops. I have never been afraid to ask questions. I love learning from those who know their ‘art’ and will sponge any information I can get from them to help. Nowadays, I try to assist younger surveyors and other workers where I can. I make myself as approachable as I can so they can be comfortable asking because it also helps me learn and evolve as well. I believe the mental health of our colleagues should be as important as physical health, so I also have become more aware of how people are feeling and take time to talk to work mates and make myself available to listen. ❓ What's your go-to coffee order?   👉🏼 Shiraz. I don’t do coffee. But if I’m at work, make it a frosty, cold H2O.  #WOWinCivil #WomenOnWednesdays #WomenInCivil #CCFSA

Here's a little more information about one of our 12d Tech Forum 2024 Silver Sponsors, ESO Surveyors. We appreciate their contribution. ESO’s Reality Capture Department can deliver spatial data to Design and Construction clients in many ways. Whether it be point clouds, digital terrain models, 2D or 3D linework or solid surfaces. To achieve this, our teams utilise the latest technology to ensure data is captured to the right specification and in the most efficient, and safe, way. We use terrestrial laser scanners, vehicle mounted stop & go scanning systems, fixed wing and multi rotor drones and mobile SLAM technology. For more information, see https://lnkd.in/gRSpg2i2
