STAYING AHEAD WITH ESO's MOBILE PHOTOGRAMMETRY SYSTEM Large-scale road dilapidation surveys are now made more comprehensive and more efficient with ESO's new quad-camera mobile photogrammetry unit. This new system can capture high-resolution imagery at speeds of up to 100km/hr using global shutter technology. The photogrammetric software and scan data also generates geo-referenced point cloud data to assist in design and planning. Our team also have the ability to leverage AI to automatically detect cracks in the surface and categorise the size of the crack based on project requirements. 𝑷𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒇 𝑴𝒊𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒆 𝑮𝒓𝒐𝒔𝒆 It is with deep sadness that we advise of the passing of our colleague and friend, Michelle Grose. Michelle had worked for ESO for a couple of years, but we had worked with her on many projects over the years in her various roles as site Survey Manager. Working in our Data Management Team, Michelle added immense value to the ESO projects and clients she supported. Her empathetic and caring nature inspired us all. Michelle’s professional catalogue of projects is awe-inspiring (see her “Throwback Thursdays”), and resulted in a leading understanding of surveying and construction projects. She was a trailblazer. Graduating in 1992, she embarked on a career in the male-dominated construction industry, earning the widespread and deserved respect of colleagues. Through her work with the Women in Civil Committee of CCF SA she advocated for increased participation and support of the women that came after her. Our thoughts are with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by us all at ESO and by the wider surveying profession and construction industry.
