Yesterday, Geosurv hosted our RUOK Day event to mark October as Mental Health Awareness Month, a fantastic initiative from Wayahead - Mental Health Association NSW. We were honoured to have Blake Johnson as our guest speaker, a world record holder for completing the longest surf. Blake's dedication to mental health advocacy and providing valuable insights for improving physical and mental well-being was truly inspiring. At Geosurv, we prioritise our staff's health and well-being. We take pride in the fact we have built a culture where saying you are not ok IS OK, reaching out for support is NORMAL and having confidence that any of our team will offer you support is just the way we operate.

Last week, Geosurv had the privilege of partnering with the Wise (Women in Surveying Empowerment) Network to host an International Women’s Day event for the industry—what a success it was! We were honored to have the incredible Janet Michalopoulos share her experiences and achievements as a woman thriving in a male-dominated industry. It was a fantastic afternoon celebrating with so many amazing women in our industry, as well as the supportive men who champion them. Connecting, sharing stories, having a laugh, and simply letting our hair down made the event truly special. There has been incredible progress for women in traditionally male-dominated industries over the past few years, and we’re proud to be part of that movement. Of course, we’re especially grateful for the women of Geosurv—your hard work and dedication play a huge role in our success, and we wouldn’t be where we are today without you. We look forward to being part of more events like this, continuing to support, empower, and uplift women in our industry! A big thank you to everyone that came to the event and to our sponsors Institution of Surveyors NSW (ISNSW), Surveyors Australia, Aptella Extra Dimension Solutions The Geoholics, She Wear & CR Kennedy! A special shoutout to the amazing Peta Cox for organising with us & overall being such a support to women within our industry!

  • It was great to attend the Institution of Surveyors NSW (ISNSW) Conference last week! A huge thank you to the ISNSW team and Rachel for organizing such a fantastic event. The conference provided valuable insights, with incredible guest speakers sharing critical updates on our industry. We were privileged to present our Circular Quay Renewal project, which was recognized with an EISSI Award for Dimension & Innovation. It was a great opportunity to showcase the project’s scope, key challenges, and the innovative solutions we implemented. It was also fantastic to connect with so many industry professionals—catching up with familiar faces and meeting new ones. Surveying is evolving—it’s no longer just about providing information to clients, but about partnering with them, leveraging cutting-edge technologies, and applying innovative methods to deliver industry-leading projects. Hearing about the advancements shaping our industry was truly inspiring, and it’s exciting to see how innovation continues to drive us forward.

  • Our leadership team took to the waves at Sydney Olympic Park's URBNSURF water park for our 2025 Leaders Vision Day! This was more than just a morning ripping waves, it was about facing challenges, breaking out of our comfort zones and setting the tone for an exciting year ahead. With an extensive workshop looking back on the previous year as well as sharing the strategy for the next, our leaders were able to communicate openly and provide feedback on what can be done to elevate Geosurv to the next level. It was a time of reflection- celebrating our wins, identifying areas of improvement and sharing moments we were most proud of.  It was also a time of proactiveness- aligning our goals, creating a vision and motivating each other to be the best versions of ourselves to continue to build on a successful pipeline for what's to come. Surfing was merely the motif - Paddling out together as a team, having a can-do attitude, rising up to the challenges ahead and overcoming obstacles. What a fantastic day we had with our leaders.

  • We are excited to announce that the Geosurv team has won the Extra Dimension and Innovation Award at the 2024 Excellence in Surveying and Spatial Information Awards (EISSI) for our work on the Circular Quay Renewal Project with Lendlease. This award is incredibly meaningful to us, as it reinforces the unique value Geosurv Pty Ltd offers our clients and highlights the diverse expertise within our team. For this project, we delivered a wide range of services, including 3D point cloud, BIM modelling, detailed and feature surveys, underground utility surveys, boundary definitions, POSI investigations, bathymetric surveys, utility locating, vacuum excavation works, CCTV investigations, geotechnical investigations, UAV services, dilapidation reporting, confined space operations, and concrete works. We are immensely proud of our team. Their dedication, hard work, and skill are always recognised and deeply appreciated. In addition, we were honoured to be finalists in the Infrastructure and Construction category for our work on the Tallawarra B Power Station project for Clough. This project involves the development of a fast-start, open-cycle power station that will provide reliable power to an additional 60,000 homes in New South Wales during peak periods. Notably, it is Australia’s first power station capable of operating with a blend of green hydrogen and natural gas, with all greenhouse gas emissions set to be fully offset over its operational life. A big thank you to the Institution of Surveyors NSW (ISNSW) and the Association of Consulting Surveyors NSW for organising a fantastic event to celebrate the achievements of individuals and firms in our profession
