The pesticide Paraquat is making headlines again, with increasing evidence linking exposure to a higher risk of Parkinson's disease. Paraquat is a synthetic, non-selective herbicide used primarily for controlling weeds and grasses. Although it is banned in 67 countries, including those in the EU, it remains in use in Australia and the US. At Eurofins ARL in Perth, we provide comprehensive herbicide testing, including for Paraquat in water samples. Our testing method, which employs liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), is ISO/IEC 17025 accredited, with a Limit of Reporting (LOR) of 2 µg/L.
