Grief education & support service for bereaved children, teens and their families.
About us
Sadly, 1 in 20 Aussie kids experience the death of their Mum or their Dad before they turn 18. At Feel the Magic, we support the families left behind, by providing free camps, resources and strategies to prepare their kids for living with grief. Based on the statistics, we all know a family struggling with grief. By sending them to Feel the Magic, they’ll know they’re not alone and start to heal, today.

Feel the Magic offers a variety of programs for grieving families, programs like our Family Day Camp and Camp Magic. But we need your help to provide more support to the 1 in 20 Australian kids who lose a parent before they turn 18. #SupportGrievingKids #childhoodbereavement #donatenow #SupportingGrievingFamilies #griefsupport #10yearsofconnection #1in20Challenge #feelthemagic #feelthemagic✨

1 in 20 Australian kids lose a parent before the age of 18. Feel the Magic's programs teach bereaved kids emotional literacy and resilience, giving them tools to manage their grief. They also find a community of peers who understand what it is like to lose their Mum or Dad. It's not too late. Help us help more grieving kids by signing up to the 1-in-20 Challenge and walk, dance, skip, hop, cycle or run 120km this October for the 1-in-20 Australian kids who will experience the death of a parent before they turn 18. www.1in20.org.au #SupportGrievingKids #childhoodbereavement #donatenow #SupportingGrievingFamilies #griefsupport #10yearsofconnection #1in20Challenge #feelthemagic #feelthemagic✨

Would you walk 120kms to save a child's life? Studies show unresolved childhood grief can increase the risk of suicide by 6 times. Help us change this statistic. Meet Rachel... our valued Volunteer, who dedicates endless time and energy to our cause and our very special kids. Thank you Rachel! #NationalVolunteerWeek
In today’s Canberra Times, I got to share my story about volunteering with Feel the Magic and what it means to me to be a volunteer 📰 Volunteering with Feel the Magic brings me so much joy, I’ve given (literal) blood, sweat and tears throughout the five years I’ve been volunteering with them, and I (mostly - if I could redo it, I’d skip the bike accident) wouldn’t change it for the world. I’m counting down the days until I am reunited with the Feel the Magic crew for the Magic Ride next week (support the riders at https://lnkd.in/gAjY8mY4) 🚲 This week is National Vomunteers Week, check out Volunteering Australia (VA) or your local volunteer organisation (VolunteeringACT for Canberra!) for volunteering opportunities near you! ✨

⭐️National Volunteers Week Recognising Melanie.... Melanie has become such a valued member of our team here at Feel the Magic, sharing her time, her energy and care for our kids. THANK YOU...
🌟 Recognising National Volunteers Week! 🌟 Our Regulatory Affairs Technologist, Melanie Bradley also volunteers at Feel the Magic. She loves volunteering because it allows her to offer comfort and healing to children who have experienced significant loss, helping them navigate their grief. Melanie’s commitment to our value of #Responsibility shines through in her dedication to giving back to the community. We’re proud of her efforts to support grieving children, exemplifying how our team members live out our values both professionally and personally. Here’s what she said when we asked her about what motivated her to become a volunteer and what she believes her impact is. #WeEnchantTheWorldWithChocolate #LifeAtLindt #NationalVolunteersWeek #MakeAnImpact

We at Feel the Magic were honoured to have the opportunity to speak about our work and highlight the transformative power of volunteering. Sharing our mission and the positive impact it has not only on the community we serve but also on our own lives and perspectives was truly inspiring. Volunteering has a profound way of enriching our lives, broadening our horizons, and fostering a deeper sense of connection and purpose. A heartfelt thank you to our volunteer Paul Bennell for creating this event with the support of his ALUCA - Australasian Life Underwriting and Claims Association team. #NationalVolunteerWeek
Happy #NationalVolunteerWeek! Thanks to everyone who attended ALUCA's Mental Health, Grief Handling & Volunteer Week Breakfast event yesterday morning, sponsored by the TAL Community Foundation and hosted by Swiss Re. We were delighted to see so many ALUCA members in Sydney for our speakers Paul Bennell - ALUCA Claims Group Deputy Chair who interviewed Kristy Thomas from Feel the Magic, followed by Alicia Gibbs - ALUCA Rehabilitation Group Chair who interviewed Tony Cassidy from Lifeline Australia. It was great to hear how volunteering can not only help the community, but also fulfil a deeper sense of purpose and help you grow in your professional career too! #NVW2024 #lifeinsurance #reinsurance #underwriting #claims #rehabilitation
