It takes place on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar, when the moon is at its fullest and brightest, symbolizing family unity and completeness. This festival is unique to many Chinese immigrants here in Australia because it serves as a powerful connection to their cultural roots while they adapt to life in a new country. By celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival, Chinese immigrants can maintain their cultural identity, strengthen community bonds, and blend traditional customs with Australia's values of multiculturalism and inclusivity. We welcome you to try mooncakes if you haven’t yet. 😁 Just be mindful of the ingredients, as they often contain eggs or nuts, which could be a concern if you have allergies.

It was incredibly inspiring to hear from two phenomenal female leaders and life-long learners, June Zeng and Huanhuan Huang, at last night's Fish Talk 'My Career Journey' session. They generously shared their unique career journeys and valuable insights, which resonate deeply with the experiences of many culturally and racially marginalized professionals. What sets them apart is their resilience against unconscious bias - they’ve not only held their heads high but also leveraged their strengths and delivered top-quality work to shatter ceilings and achieve remarkable success. The session was filled with warmth, inspiration, energy, and love. As we strive in our own careers, it's clear that the higher we rise, the more we can influence decision-making to uphold meritocracy.
