When the balance of bacteria in the gut is disturbed, it can lead to leaky gut syndrome. This can trigger inflammation and cause various symptoms, including diarrhea, bloating, and fatigue. Leaky gut is linked to various health conditions, so maintaining a healthy gut microbiota is essential for overall health and well-being. #gut #guthealth #immunesystem #immuneresponse #guthealthawareness #guthealing #estrogen #hormones #leakygut #leakygutsyndrome

DID YOU KNOW? 💡Eating with someone can help with your digestion. When you eat with others, it triggers the release of beneficial neurochemicals and improves digestion. Bonding with others and feeling connected releases endogenous opioids and oxytocin, which create pleasant feelings. These neurochemical changes contribute to an overall sense of well-being and contentment. #gutfact #digestion #digestivehealth #eating #socialconnection #neuroscience #gutbrainconnection #gutbrainaxis #guthealth #guttalk #health #healthylife

"I'm not celiac, but I can't eat gluten and/or lactose. I'm intolerant and must eat gluten-free." At FixBiome, we often hear this from our customers, and it highlights a growing concern: the increase in self-diagnosed gluten and lactose intolerance is on the rise as our gut health declines and more people experience "IBS" or general gut issues. Many individuals find their gut health so out of balance that just to manage symptoms, they feel they have to adhere to a strict gluten- or lactose-free diet. This can be both stressful and socially limiting, leading to the avoidance of gatherings that may not accommodate their dietary needs, plus a damaged relationship with food and potential deficiencies. It's important to acknowledge that their symptoms are just as real as those experienced by individuals with genetic medical conditions (such as celiac disease, lactose intolerance due to congenital lactase deficiency, or inflammatory bowel disease), even if the root causes differ. A lot of the time, these problems come from dysbiosis, which is an imbalance in the gut microbiome. This issue is getting more common in the Western world because of diet, lifestyle, stress, antibiotic use, and not being exposed to environments that support a healthy microbiome. At Fixbiome Pty LTD, we like to put it this way: You're not necessarily "intolerant" you're just reacting. It's more about your gut bacteria being out of whack or in the wrong place, which makes you react to certain proteins in gluten and lactose (or hinders your ability to make certain enzymes required for their breakdown). This can cause uncomfortable symptoms. If you've noticed that you can no longer enjoy gluten or dairy or have a growing list of food intolerances in general, a few questions you can ask yourself are: "Was there a time when I could eat these foods without issues?" "Was I like this as a child?" "Do I seem to have an ever-expanding list of foods I can't eat?" "Is this issue so bad it has started to affect my work, relationships, energy, stress levels or social life?" If there was a time when these foods didn't bother you and your medical tests came back showing no genetic cause, it's likely that your gut just needs some rebalancing and TLC- the best place to start will always be lifestyle followed by other supportive mechanisms like supplements, but lifestyle always comes first. Food is not only a source of fuel but also a source of enjoyment and a social thing. Long-term restriction of any major food group, when not carefully managed by a healthcare professional, can lead to deficiencies and other problems- including issues with our mental health. I've personally gone through this journey, so I can relate to the experience of many of our customers. One of my favourite reviews will always be about how much "food freedom" people have regained after addressing their gut health- as I know how freeing that can be.
