Until March 31st, our partner Safewill, Australia’s leading online Will writing platform, is offering the opportunity to write a bespoke Will for free. "I've had a relationship with Full Stop Australia for 25 years. First as a student activist promoting the services on campus, as a Board member and as a client. I am so proud to leave a significant donation in my will. I know the value that long-term gifts through wills and estates can mean for an organisation. I want to be sure that victim-survivors are able to get the support they need for generations to come. Can you join me in leaving a gift in your will?" - Karen Iles Follow the link below for more information. https://hubs.li/Q03cSjjT0

Today is 'Harmony Day' in Australia, but globally it's the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. We know the intersection of gendered violence and racism increases both the risk and the impacts of violence. We need the critical thinking that IDERD asks of us if we are going to make a real difference to end gender based violence. The Australian Human Rights Commission and national campaign Racism It Stops With Me, have shared an important factsheet that explains this in more depth and includes links to further reading. PART 2 🧡🌟 Full Stop Australia CEO, Karen Bevan, and Older Women's Network NSW CEO, Yumi Lee continue their discussion about the dangers of missing a gender lens in policy development such as the draft National Strategy to End the Abuse and Mistreatment of Older People. Anyone in Australia who is or has experienced sexual, domestic or family violence can access free, confidential and 24/7 trauma-specialist counselling by calling 1800 FULL STOP (1800 385 578) or webchat at fullstop.org.au

Australia has an ageing population. 4.2 million Australians are over the age of 65, 2.81 million of whom are women. One of the biggest drivers of violence for older people is isolation. Research and data, like ‘The [un] Silencing of Older Women', is essential to understand the nuanced impact of gender-based violence on older people in order to provide the best possible response and prevent people falling through the gaps. Anyone in Australia who is or has experienced sexual, domestic or family violence can access free, confidential and 24/7 trauma-specialist counselling by calling 1800 FULL STOP (1800 385 578) or webchat at https://hubs.li/Q03cspHS0 #SeniorsWeek

PART 1 🧡🌟 It’s Seniors Week in NSW and earlier this month Full Stop Australia CEO Karen Bevan visited the Older Women's Network NSW to chat with CEO Yumi Lee about celebrating the contributions of older people often left in the margins and also about the system gaps leading to poor health outcomes. Australia has an ageing population. 4.2 million Australians are over the age of 65, 2.81 million of whom are women. System response must always include an age lens alongside a gender lens. Anyone in Australia who is or has experienced sexual, domestic or family violence can access free, confidential and 24/7 trauma-specialist counselling by calling 1800 FULL STOP (1800 385 578) or webchat at fullstop.org.au

📌 New submission! Full Stop Australia’s advocacy team has made a submission to the Draft NSW Homelessness Strategy 2025-2035. Full Stop Australia supports the Strategy’s vision of building service capacity and aspiring for homelessness to be rare, brief and not repeated in NSW. While the Strategy acknowledges that domestic and family violence are key drivers of homelessness, the Strategy fails to adequately address the experiences of individuals navigating homelessness and their increased risk of sexual violence victimisation. Read the full submission on our website. Link in bio. Anyone in Australia impacted by sexual, domestic or family violence can access free, confidential and 24/7 trauma-specialist counselling by calling 1800 FULL STOP (1800 385 578) or webchat at https://hubs.li/Q03bFSby0
