  • These stunning views served as the workplace for our US team as they completed the installation of an avalanche control system for Colorado Department of Transportation at a huge 12,000ft elevation above Highway 550 in Ouray County, Colorado. The project showed our expertise in managing challenging construction logistics in inhospitable alpine terrain. Integrating rope access techniques with helicopter operations we installed MND GAZEX and O'BELLX systems across three slide paths. The successful delivery of this project in difficult conditions demonstrated our team's capability when conventional methods aren't possible. Awesome work team! 🙌 #safety #gazex #obellx #avalanchemitigation #ropeaccess #limitedaccess #alpineterrain #heliworks #geovert

  • A fantastic start to 2025's photo competition, with impressive entries showcasing our teams in action across multiple projects. This month's winning image comes from Brian Marave in New Zealand, who captured several outstanding photos of our crew at the Brynderwyn Hills project, with this particular photo as the stand out amongst the collection. Congratulations to Brian and thanks to everyone who submitted photos this month. 👏👏👏 #photocompetition #photoofthemonth #BrynderwynHills #shotcrete #constructionphotography #groundengineering #geovert

  • We’re delighted to announce Geovert’s latest major contract award on the O Mahurangi - Penlink project in New Zealand, working in collaboration with the O Mahurangi Alliance. Our ground stabilisation work is well under way and will deliver batter stabilisation to soil slopes and rock faces across the project. Up to 30,000 metres of soil nails and rock bolts, along with stabilisation mesh and drilled drainage systems are being installed. This work forms an important part of the O Mahurangi Penlink project, that will see a new, tolled, 7km highway connecting the Whangaparāoa Peninsula to State Highway 1. We're proud to contribute our expertise to this landmark development and look forward to delivering exceptional results alongside the O Mahurangi Alliance. #contractannouncement #penlinkproject #slopestabilisation #infrastructuredevelopment #soilnails #rockbolts #collaboration #geovert

  • As we watch the continuing impact of California's devastating forest fires, our thoughts turn to the affected communities and critical post-fire challenges they face. The risk of catastrophic debris flows is now particularly acute as intense rainfall hits fire-scorched slopes. This lesser-known aftermath of such fires often poses critical infrastructure risks, particularly when rains hit bare, unstable terrain. These events remind us of our work in New Mexico following their largest recorded wildfire, where 341,745 acres of Santa Fe National Forest were lost. Our emergency response team worked alongside FEMA and USACE to protect Santa Fe's water supply. From our rapid response deployment to customised drilling solutions and debris barrier installations, this project showcases the crucial role of preparedness and specialised expertise in post-wildfire recovery. The increasing frequency of these events highlights the importance of having proven post-fire mitigation strategies ready to protect infrastructure and water resources. For our next Geovert People profile, we're catching up with Tim Ward, our Spider excavator whisperer and Works Manager in Australia. When he's not manoeuvring machines on steep slopes, Tim is an integral part of our team in the critical Cyclone Jasper recovery work in Queensland. WHAT IS YOUR NAME AND CURRENT ROLE? Tim Ward, I am a Works Manager for Geovert Ground Engineering WHAT DID YOU DO BEFORE YOU CAME TO GEOVERT? I started my career labouring for a company which specialised in micropiling/anchoring and was brought over to Geovert as a Supervisor. Once I got involved with Geovert I was keen to learn all the ins and outs of Rope Access works involved the slope stabilisation industry. As I quickly learned, I was progressed through to a Works Manager position and have been learning the higher level skills that go into running the business. WHAT DO YOU ENJOY ABOUT WORKING FOR GEOVERT? I honestly come to work each day excited to work with a great bunch of guys and a supportive executive team. As a supervisor I relish in the ability to run my own race, making me much more competent at my job. Geovert has taken me to places I had never dreamed of going with multiple projects utilising helicopters for those “hard to reach” areas us GeoWarriors love! WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE GEOVERT EXPERIENCE SO FAR? My favourite part was having the opportunity to travel to the United States to work. Coming in a close second is my Spider excavator training undertaken in Switzerland, both incredible experiences. IF YOU COULDN'T DO THIS JOB, WHAT WOULD YOU BE? I honestly couldn’t see myself doing anything else. I enjoy the constantly changing environment and problem solving that comes part and parcel with the job. Thanks for sharing Tim! #geovertpeople #worksmanager #meettheteam #groundengineering #geovert

  • The versatile Spider excavator combines mobility with a high power to weight ratio allowing it freedom to move easily in environments that would defeat other excavators. The machine's agility with fully articulated, extendable legs allows the operator to sit level on a 45-degree slope and to navigate slopes exceeding 45 degrees, making it invaluable for steep terrain in narrow canyons. Beyond its impressive climbing capabilities, this machine's minimal footprint significantly reduces environmental impact compared to traditional excavators, allowing our teams to access and clear areas safely, while preserving the surrounding landscape. This unique combination of mobility, power and agility makes the Geovert Spider an indispensable tool for our work in challenging locations. Anytime! Anywhere! #spiderexcavator #excavationequipment #constructioninnovation #safety #geovert

  • A timely reminder of the critical post-fire challenges communities face. Our experience protecting Santa Fe's water infrastructure after New Mexico's largest recorded wildfire (341,745 acres of National Forest) showed how engineered debris flow systems can protect vital infrastructure and water supplies in these situations. Our thoughts are with the CA teams working to safeguard all the affected communities. #postfiremitigation #emergencyresponse #communityresilience #debrisflow #geovert

  • Geovert have completed extensive slope stabilisation works in the Brynderwyn Hills, in response to significant damage caused by Cyclone Gabrielle in 2023. Throughout this 18-month project, the team achieved an exceptional safety record with no significant incidents, showing the effectiveness of our safety protocols and continuous monitoring across multiple work sites. This safety achievement was made possible through collaboration between Geovert and partners Fulton Hogan and WSP with regular coordination meetings ensuring clear communication and swift responses to changing ground conditions. The project scope included various stabilisation techniques, including the implementation of an innovative downslope shotcrete solution using a pneumatic drycrete pump, which improved safety by reducing the weight of manual handling for rope access operations. Despite the difficult terrain and challenging working environment, the team successfully maintained access along State Highway 1, New Zealand's vital connection to Whangarei Port and Northland, while delivering stabilisation works that have significantly improved resilience against future weather events. This project is an example of how effective partnerships between specialist contractors and engineering consultants can successfully deliver complex infrastructure projects while maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational efficiency. An outstanding effort by all involved! NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi #slopestabilisation #brynderwynhills #infrastructure #safety #collaboration #groundengineering #geovert
