Falling under the Western Australian Government’s WHS Peak Body Grants Program, the event will focus on the 2022 WHS Legislation and subsequent Mental Awareness, Respect and Safety (MARS) Program, which aims to shed light on how employers can effectively manage psychosocial hazards in the workplace. Earlier this week we had an unexpected visitor to site in the midst of WA-based drilling works. 🦔 Not unlike ourselves, echidnas are pretty skilled in burrowing through soil to hit paydirt (which, in their case, consists of ants). We don’t mean to brag, but we reckon we covered ground a bit quicker than our little friend. We’re always on the lookout for sustainable and innovative alternatives that improve operational standards, whilst minimising the environmental cost. 🌱 One of our latest efforts to ‘go green’ is the deployment of solar lighting towers, powered by high-efficiency solar panels. These solar panels capitalise on clear skies and ample sunlight, which Western Australia offers on the daily... especially in the warmer months! ☀️ Pictured below is a drilling rig set up for 24-hour diamond drilling operations. In the left-hand area, you can see the solar panel and the lighting post it powers. The incorporation of solar energy is only one component of our diverse environmental strategy. Our crew is en route to a major Iron Ore client’s operation in Western Australia, to undertake decommissioning of monitoring and production bores (depths up to 220m, diameter 305mm). Safety, as ever, is paramount. In addition to utilising late model equipment with hands free automation capability, works will be supervised and executed in compliance with ‘Minimum Construction Requirements’. Pictured is one of two rigs to be deployed on site; each will be accompanied by a ‘Humpy Van’ that is configured with an office, stores, crib room and a communications hub, at the drill pad. This is one aspect of our Hydrogeological service offering.
