  • Last week, Grant Wallis GAICD, MBA, our CEO, and Brendan, our Chief Engineer, attended MinExpo to meet with clients and suppliers about our electrification and decarbonisation strategy. The conversations were productive, and we are excited about the progress of our electric RC drill project, which began well before we were awarded an Australian Federal Government grant for this initiative in April this year. Grant and Brendan also had a positive and spirited conversation with Dr Andrew Forrest from Fortescue regarding Fortescue’s commitment to developing a zero-emission mining fleet, which is part of their journey to achieving Real Zero Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030. #Drilling #Mining #Decarbonisation #Electrification

  • Wallis Drilling recently entered the 2024 Clontarf Foundation Swan View Dodgeball Carnival. Not only was it a fantastic opportunity to engage in some friendly competition, but it also allowed the team to come together to support the students at Clontarf. The energy was electric, and the teamwork on display was truly inspiring. Although Wallis Drilling didn’t walk away with the win, Patrick, Digby, Alex and Jesse did walk away with achy muscles! #drilling #mining #teamwork

  • The 2024 Diggers & Dealers Mining Forum was a resounding success! Held in the heart of Western Australia’s gold mining district, Kalgoorlie, the event captured the bustling energy and spirit of this gold mining town. With perfect weather, knowledgeable speakers, and an atmosphere brimming with optimism, Grant Wallis GAICD, MBA and Kim Wallis made the most of the exceptional networking and hospitality provided by the Diggers & Dealers Mining Forum committee. Last year was all about #Lithium and #REEs; this year, it’s clear that #Gold is taking centre stage. As part of our Carbon Reduction Strategy, we assessed the Ford F150 Lightning EV, which could play a role on some of our sites in the future. On the final day, we visited the Super Pit—the big hole in the ground that has created so many jobs over the decades. What a spectacular sight! Already looking forward to what next year’s forum will bring! #Mining #Exploration #Drilling
