About us
Hanes Brands Australasia has come a long way from manufacturing Dunlop bicycle tyres in 1893. Known as Pacific Brands prior to the acquisition in July 2016 by the American multinational Hanes Brands Inc, today we are famous for our portfolio of truly iconic brands, including Bonds, Bras N Things, Sheridan and Berlei and many more. Our brands are sold through our extensive national retail network of over 500 Bonds, Sheridan and Bras N Things stores, our hugely successful e-commerce websites and via our wholesale partners. Headquartered in Melbourne Australia, Hanes Brands Australasia operates throughout Australia, New Zealand, China, Indonesia, and the United Kingdom. The passion of our 4,400 employees is the driving force behind our success. We are part of Hanes Brands Inc, the world’s largest manufacturer and marketer of basic apparel brands. We at Hanes Brands take pride in its strong reputation for ethical business practices: we are the only apparel producer to ever be honoured by the Great Place to Work Institute for its workplace practices in Central America and the Caribbean, and are ranked No. 167 on the Forbes magazine list of America’s Best Large Employers. For eight consecutive years, Hanes Brands Inc has won the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Energy Star sustained excellence/partner of the year award: again, the only apparel company to earn sustained excellence honours.

This year, R U OK? called for everyone to 'Ask R U OK? Any Day' because life happens every day. To help make the day a meaningful one, a number of our team members shared stories about a time they asked someone (or someone asked them), R U OK? A small gesture that can have such a big impact on someone's life. The team also enjoyed some coffee, cakes and conversation with one another to mark the occasion. If you're feeling unsure about how to bring up an R U OK? conversation - try ALEC: 1. Ask R U OK? Ask in a way that feel right for you (you don't need to use the exact words, 'are you OK?'). You could point out things you've noticed in a non-judgmental way. 2. Listen: Have an open mind and actively listen to what they are saying. Don't rush or interrupt them, but you could encourage them to explain. 3. Encourage Action: Ask what they've done in the past that has helped. You can encourage them to access support or do something that might lighten the load. 4. Check in: Stay in touch after the initial conversation. Ask how they've been feeling and repeat the above steps if needed. Make meaningful conversations a part of your everyday relationships with friends, family, team mates and colleagues. #RUOK #BeInGoodCompany #GoodImpact #GoodPeople

When the federal government proposes to classify period products as ‘lifestyle related’, affecting those on the NDIS, it’s hard to stand by and do nothing. At Bonds, we strongly disagree that menstrual management is a lifestyle choice – but rather a basic need. Period. Research conducted by Share The Dignity shows that 78% of Australians with disability who menstruate cannot afford period products. Since launching our Bloody Comfy Period Undies range, we’re proud to have donated over 49,000 pairs to communities and organisations in need to support individuals experiencing period poverty. If you want a bloody good deal, you can shop our range now at the jaw-dropping price of $15 (and use them over & over & over again), or head to this link & make your voice count for Aussies with disability: https://lnkd.in/gSqSFm5N
