The idea for Hawkins Watts was born in 1992 when a multinational food ingredients company decided to exit the New Zealand market. Peter Hawkins, a sales manager at the time, saw the opportunity to provide
local manufacturers with their own trusted ingredients supplier.
But Peter wanted to be more than a distributor. His vision was to build a team of experts that would work collaboratively to develop unique solutions for their clients, building a dedicated food technology laboratory so Hawkins Watts could provide the entire solution, the ingredients and the know how. Peter’s passion for building relationships has become the secret ingredient of Hawkins Watts’ culture. Our approach is to learn everything we can about our customers’ goals and challenges and come back with solutions that tick all the boxes. With Hawkins Watts offices and laboratories in Australia and New Zealand, we’re continually working to do better for our customers, our people and our supply partners.
