One of our current projects - converting a container into a low temperature drying room - temp to be -1° to -2° C. Air flow distribution design - as you can see we have installed the supply air plenum and will be installing fabric duct inside the container to evenly and efficiently distribute the dry/cold air. There will be air distribution ducted externally between the desiccant dehumidifier, refrigeration system and container. More to come from Humiscope - watch this space. #desiccantdehumidifier #dryingrooms #hvac #masteryourindoors

DRY AGEING MEAT: Using a desiccant dehumidifier in a cold room has dramatically changed the dry-aging meat method. Its ability to control humidity precisely, reduce unnecessary weight loss, prevent mould growth, and function efficiently in cold environments makes it a superior choice over the traditional salt method and other dehumidification types. Whether you're a butcher or commercial food producer, investing in the right environmental control technology will help deliver maximum flavour, tenderness, and profitability. #dryageing #dryagedmeat #foodproduction #desiccantdehumidifiers #masteryourindoors

When storing paper and documents, maintaining the right temperature and humidity is crucial for preservation. High humidity can cause moisture damage, while low humidity can lead to brittleness. Proper ventilation, air quality, and avoiding temperature fluctuations are key. Dehumidifiers are recommended to control humidity, ensuring long-term preservation of documents. This weekend it's National Salami Day! We just want to give a BIG SHOUT OUT to all our clients for making such delicious treats. Humiscope provides desiccant dehumidifiers specifically for #foodproduction - These units work superbly with refrigeration systems and create a dry environment. The indoor conditions remain consistent all year round regardless of seasonal variations. 'We’re very happy with the outcome. Essentially we created our own climate and doubled our production rate.' ~ Peter Schulte - Managing Director, Schulte's #NationalSalamiDay #FoodSolutions #MasterYourIndoors

DEW POINT: What is it!? The dew point is the temperature at which air becomes saturated with moisture and water starts to condense. In simpler terms, it’s the temperature where the air can no longer hold all the moisture it contains, and some of it turns into water droplets. Here’s an easy way to think about it: Imagine a Cold Drink on a Hot Day: When you have a cold drink on a hot and humid day, you might notice droplets of water forming on the outside of the glass. This happens because the warm air around the glass cools down when it touches the cold surface. When it cools to the dew point temperature, the moisture in the air condenses into water droplets on the glass. Outdoor Example: On a chilly morning, you might see fog or dew on the grass. This occurs because overnight, the air cools down and reaches its dew point. The moisture in the air condenses into tiny water droplets on the grass. In essence, the dew point tells us how much moisture is in the air. A higher dew point means the air is more humid (more moisture), and a lower dew point means the air is drier. How does the dew point affect how hot you feel? When it's warm and humid, the moisture in the air can make it harder for your body to cool off. Normally, your body cools itself by sweating and letting that moisture evaporate from your skin. But when the air is already full of moisture, this evaporation slows down, making you feel hotter for longer. So, the higher the dew point, the harder it is for your body to cool down. #information #dewpoint #whatis #humiditycontrol #masteryourindoors

PORTABLE DRYING ROOM CLIENT UPDATE: “We are extremely happy with the results.” Our client, sustainably minded ‘Wren Group’ was founded in 2008. Australian owned and operated, they are wholesale producers and suppliers of Australian mackerel. This family run business has diversified by making pet food from the offcuts of caught fish. ‘It’s a great way to reduce waste in our industry.’ David Wren, Wren Group. To create pet food, they required an efficient drying space. Prior to implementing Humiscope’s drying room, they were unable to dry at scale. USING THE HUMISCOPE DRYING ROOM: ‘We find our product dries quickly and the drying room is easy to load and unload and operating the equipment is simple.’ ‘We can now dry more product and the drying time is quicker making it more productive.’ If you are looking for an all-in-one solution for drying your product, get in touch. Humiscope has been solving indoor climate control challenges for decades. BESPOKE DEHUMIDIFICATION: Humiscope engineered and selected this TFT AD 9000 Desiccant Dehumidifier specifically for drying a particular food product, with precise client requirements, to ensure the quality of the final product. We have commissioned the unit to run at 0 °C and one of our techs has now insulated the entire interior. This additional insulation is crucial to prevent any thermal transfer between the inside and outside of the unit, which could potentially cause unwanted condensation due to the extreme temperature conditions entering the system. If you’re looking for customised solutions that result in your precise indoor environment requirements being met, get in touch. #dryingrooms #dryingatscale #foodindustry #masteryourindoors

This chart allows you to gauge when to choose a refrigerant (mechanical) dehumidifier over a desiccant (adsorption) dehumidifier. As you can see, temperature and relative humidity are the main factors determining a dehumidification system's efficiency. When the air is warmer (between 10 and 32°C), it's easier to remove moisture from it if you cool it down. This is because cooling the air makes the relative humidity (RH) increase and approach its dew point (gets closer to the point where the water vapor turns into liquid). So, for warm, humid air (over 40% RH), refrigerant systems work better. But for cooler air with lower humidity, using a desiccant dehumidifier is more effective. In cooler temperatures, refrigerant systems can freeze up, which impacts their overall efficiency. EXAMPLE: Desiccant systems are ideal for facilities like those in pharmaceuticals, food processing, low-temperature storage, freezer rooms, and lithium battery production – applications where dry conditions are essential and excess humidity is a critical concern. On the other hand, refrigerant dehumidifiers work best for food and clothing drying rooms, indoor swimming pools, concrete drying, and data centres. #humiditycontrol #temperaturecontrol #dehumidification #masteryourindoors
