Excited by the 2024 IIBA SoftEd Festival of Business Analysis and want to get involved? Check out this post...
As the dust settles on the 2024 IIBA SoftEd Festival of Business Analysis I'm left contemplating what we achieved this year: We blew through for the first time not just 900, 1000, but 1100 total attendees. We had 1148 total attendees overall, with 216 online and over 200 in NZ alone. As part of these figures we were so close to 1,000 for the first time in terms of Australian Face to Face combined with online attendees with that number being 944. These numbers confirm the 2024 IIBA SoftEd Festival of Business Analysis as the biggest conference for Business Analysis in the world. Covering Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Auckland and Wellington - that probably also applies to geographic range as well. So what's next? Well I'm glad you asked. If you caught the talk by Garrie Irons and myself in the online program you will know that doing things early (especially putting the program together) is a large part of the secret to our success this year. We won't be having a break from FoBA 2025 organising and will look to have speaker EOIs out well before this side of Christmas. So watch this space! The other "duh" success factor is have a program you know will be of interest and is of direct value to BAs in their working lives. So I'm interested to know - tell me what was your single favourite part of FoBA2024 in whatever aspect, speakers, venues, timing, catering whatever and if you attended remember to fill in your FoBA survey which will now be eagerly awaiting your response in your inbox. And I'm thinking having a naming rights sponsor for the first time - (thankyou SoftEd Skills Development Group ) is probably also a big part of the mix. Finally are you interested in helping out with next year's FoBA 2025? The demands for organising this Festival will only get bigger over time. You can volunteer either at the Branch level - or this year we will be calling out for volunteers to support activities at the Board level. Interested? Either reach out to me or Abi Sachithanantham and fill in a volunteer EOI form at https://lnkd.in/gytv77Ba . Indicate if your interested in helping a particular branch event or at the board level.
