NEW PROJECT, with Main Roads Western Australia and The University of Western Australia. This project leverages #drone video analytics data collected at over 50 roundabouts in Perth to conduct comprehensive safety analyses. Building on existing footage from iMOVE project 1-028, the research will focus on analysing vehicle trajectories, speeds, and interactions with vulnerable road users. cc. Download the final report and watch/listen to the webinar, both driven by outcomes from the "Charging requirements for Melbourne’s #electricbus fleet" project. Should the charging network for Melbourne’s #electricbus fleet be depot-based, or a combination of depot-based and en-route charging? Further, in any decisions on this, the planning for the #electrification needs to consider the constraints of both the #transport and #energy sectors. cc. NEW PROJECT, with IAG and the University of Sydney's Australian Centre for Robotics. It aims to assess the real-world effectiveness of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (#ADAS) and develop a proof-of-concept sensor platform to collect naturalistic driving data for systems such as Lane Departure Warning and Lane Keep Assist, replacing subjective assessments with empirical metrics. #roadsafety cc. NEW PROJECT, with Department of Transport, Western Australia, Main Roads Western Australia, and The University of Western Australia. This research project leverages cutting-edge #videoanalytics (VA) technology as a means of monitoring use of Perth’s #activetransport network. Focusing on Principal Shared Paths (PSP) and other active #transport routes in selected local government areas, the project will explore and test capabilities of VA in providing a deeper insight on how the network is being used by people walking, wheeling and riding across the network. cc. NEW PROJECT, with iMOVE participants Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts and the University of South Australia. This project will develop a data fusion framework to infer #roadfreight origin-destination (OD) flows using information from multiple sources with varying levels of quality, coverage and detail. The framework will be applied using #traffic count #data from the National Freight Data Hub and commodity flow data from the 2014 Road Freight Movement Survey. cc.
