  • Increasingly, growers are looking to the fertiliser industry to support their efforts to improve nutrient use efficiency while safeguarding crop production. Over the past 18 months, we’ve invested $1.6 million into upgrading our Tasmanian distribution sites with cutting-edge liquid coating technology. This allows for the precise application of Enhanced Efficiency Fertilisers (EEFs) like Green Urea NV® and eNpower®. Our new system optimises nitrogen retention and trace element coatings, providing a uniform, reliable product tailored to meet the specific needs of farmers across Tasmania. • Nitrogen (N) is vital for plant growth, but it also accounts for 70% of on-farm cotton GHG emissions. Reducing N use per kilogram of cotton is essential for sustainability. IPF supports cotton growers with Enhanced Efficiency Fertilisers (EEFs) like eNpower® and Green Urea NV®, which help protect N investments without compromising yields. Recent internal studies confirm that using EEFs can maintain yield with reduced N rates. For sustainable and profitable cotton farming, integrating EEFs and adhering to the 4Rs of nutrient management – right product, right rate, right time, right place – is crucial. • Two years ago, IPF challenged University of Southern Queensland (USQ) Centre for Agricultural Engineering to automate precision liquid fertiliser application using existing technology. The result? An innovative, IPF-funded project demonstrating how farmers can optimise liquid fertiliser use, reduce costs, and enhance safety. Key outcomes include automated tank refilling and variable rate technology for precision application of Easy N. The project’s success in field testing and new user guides offers a comprehensive roadmap for adopting autonomous technology in agriculture. • Farming in an increasingly sustainable way while improving productivity is front of mind for many Australian growers. A major focus of IPF’s R&D team around Enhanced Efficiency Fertilisers (EEFs) like eNpower® and Green Urea NV®, is to not only reduce emissions of GHGs but also to provide growers with better nutrient use efficiency, minimising losses and maintaining the nitrogen in the soil for crop growth cycles. Discover how IPF’s R&D team is making it easier to measure and reduce emissions on-farm on page 5 of our Dig Deep Magazine: https://bit.ly/4d2FHuj #DigDeep #EEF

Our industry is at the heart of Australia's agricultural future! During the week at the Fertilizer Australia Conference Dinner, IPF President, Scott Bowman, highlighted the critical role fertilisers play in driving agricultural productivity and sustainability. With global population growth pushing demand for food higher, Australia’s farmers are positioned to lead the way. Scott's message to the audience was that farmers need to be empowered by the surety of supply, to help them be more productive. Our industry is stepping up, ensuring farmers have the nutrients and know-how they need to succeed in a complex global environment. #Agriculture #FertiliserAustralia #IncitecPivotFertilisers
