Wow! Last week was jam packed at the All Energy Australia Conference in Melbourne. Was great to connect with so many passionate people in the industry dedicating themselves to the cause. 🙌 Was great to share the stage with Clare Luehman GAICD, FCA, Richard Phillips, Professor David Hill, Steve Hoy, Andrew Sibley and Graeme Harding - each discussing our experiences on progressing the #energy #transition. Some interesting takeways over the 2 day conference included: 💡95% RE target for Victoria by 2035. 💡The important role #CER will have. 💡"Using hydrogen in the home is like importing expensive italian sparkling water to wash your dishes, but it has its place in the industrial processes." 💡Increases in LNG investment over the next decade is going to eat into the clean energy transition i.e: its not just displacing coal now, its starting to displace renewables - we can't let this happen. 💡 #Australia isn't good at completing projects on time or within budget because (A) the government is good at announcing projects and then doing the business case afterwards (e.g: Snowy 2.0). (B) there is a lack of coordination among government projects and everyone is trying to do everything at the same time - creating competition for resources and materials (e.g: Olympics vs transport projects vs energy transition projects). 💡#Nuclear doesn't make financial sense in Australia as we already have a set of commercially viable solutions. 💡Australia is ahead of their #transmission #infrastructure journey when compared to countries like the UK. 💡For every dollar spent on system strength infrastructure it delivers $5 worth of benefit to consumers. 💡Australia has a long way to go with regard to energy efficiency when compared to other countries. 💡RIT-T process is creating barriers to meeting objectives and the pain is being felt across the nation. 💡#Data-centers have a big role to play in the upcoming transition! #FCAS 💡Grid forming inverters and synchronous condensers have a key role in the energy transition (watch out for that lead time)! At Incite Energy we are across the latest and greatest BUT more importantly we understand what works and what doesn't when implementing energy solutions across a range of industries. Don't hesitate to get in contact if you need a group of passionate people to help you get things done! 💪
