How I finish up my work day… I’m working on zen-ing out after a long work day by doing this 5min flow. Even when I’m tired and just want to hop into bed, I know I’ll feel better if I just spend 5min stretching out, mobilising my spine and doing some breath work with my movement (then giving Benji a cuddle of course 🥰). Give it a go! You’ll thank yourself! 🧘♀️

Do you feel stuck doing your hamstring stretches? Maybe it’s your nerves 🤷♀️ The sciatic nerve affects the glutes, hamstrings and calf muscles particularly when stretching those muscles. Sometimes getting them unstuck can help reduce that tension- without stretching! Nerve tensioning vs flossing vs gliding Nerve tensioning: gently tensions or pulls the nerve in a lengthened position. It should be a mild sensation, if it stings or is too strong, reduce the movement until it feels productive Nerve flossing = nerve gliding and is the sliding of the nerve between the soft tissues without the feeling of heavy tension. This move seems to be most productive when the tension is very mild or no tension at all with a small range of movement but you may find you can increase your range after only a few repetitions Tips: ➡️ This is NOT a stretch and should not feel like one! ➡️ This is more about sensation so feel free to close your eyes and breathe ➡️ More is not better! 8-10 reps may be enough for most people, too many and you may start to irritate the nerve! ➡️ Try before your next stretch session and see if this helps you
