  • Meet Myra – for over 11 years, Myra has been a valued member of the ISS team as a cleaner at Gold Coast Airport. At 65, she continues to thrive in her role, enjoying both the work and the dynamic, diverse team around her. A proud grandmother of eight and an avid Melbourne Demons supporter, on weekends she enjoys beach walks and exploring the local live music scene with her husband. Today, on #InternationalDayofOlderPersons, we proudly celebrate colleagues like Myra, whose experience and enthusiasm enrich our workplace every day. Our Age and Generation Employee Representation Group (ERG) champions the value of every generation at ISS. As Craig Zubrinich, JP (Qualified), MAHRI, ERG Captain, says “Age should be celebrated as an asset, not a barrier. Whether it’s our seasoned Placemakers who’ve dedicated years of their talent, or those they mentor, this day reminds us to cherish the rich exchange of knowledge between generations.” #CompanyofBelonging #IDOP2024 #PeopleMakePlaces

  • ISS is proud to be recognised as a Veteran Friendly Employer. The Veteran Employment Program (VEP) demonstrates the importance the Australian Government places on the skills, values and experience veterans bring to civilian workplaces. The VEP improves support for veterans as they move from the Australian Defence Force (ADF) to civilian employment, whether they want to work for an organisation or build their own business. It also helps Australian organisations create work environments to bring out the best in their veteran employees. The ADF invests heavily in its servicewomen and men, giving them a wealth of skills and experience that are an asset to any business. At ISS, we're committed to supporting veterans and their families in their transition to civilian careers across our operations – from aviation security, facilities management to energy and resources. Our partnership with national charity Soldier On has been instrumental in achieving this goal. This is another example of how ISS is leading the way to being a #CompanyofBelonging. Thank you to our team for their dedication to making this happen. #PeopleMakePlaces #Defence #VeteranEmployment #VEP

  • This week, ISS has had the pleasure of attending the TEFMA NZ 2024 conference, where this year’s theme, ‘The Fellowship of Ideas: Envisioning Tomorrow’, closely aligns with our ongoing commitment to supporting the university sector. TEFMA provides a valuable opportunity to engage with key stakeholders in tertiary education, allowing us to better understand their evolving needs. Andrew Corones, ISS National General Manager Specialised Services, said: “We attend TEFMA to connect with universities and explore how ISS can continue to deliver tailored support. This year, we’re especially excited about the new perspectives we’ve gained on the future of facilities management in education.” The conference has been an excellent platform for exploring emerging trends and finding fresh ways to innovate and enhance the services we provide to the tertiary education sector. We look forward to continuing these important conversations in the months ahead and are committed to participating in future TEFMA events to further drive collaboration and innovation in FM for education. #PeopleMakePlaces #FacilitiesManagement #Education #OneISS

  • We’re proud to announce that ISS has successfully renewed its Cleaning Accountability Framework (CAF) Contractor Prequalification, reinforcing our commitment to ethical cleaning and decent work for cleaners across Australia. This renewal reflects our adherence to high standards in fair labour practices, worker engagement and responsible contracting. We're also excited to support the launch of the new CAF Portfolio Certification, providing asset owners like ISPT with a clear framework for promoting responsible procurement and cleaner wellbeing across their portfolios. With nearly 150,000 commercial cleaners in Australia – many working in isolation or on temporary visas – this certification empowers cleaners and drives ethical practices across the industry.   "ISS is dedicated to ethical and sustainable cleaning. This achievement, along with our support of CAF-certified sites like ISPT’s Queensland retail property, demonstrates our leadership in promoting fair and equitable practices across the industry." Andrew Corones, National General Manager, Specialised Services.   We look forward to continuing our work with CAF to drive positive change in the sector.   #PeopleMakePlaces #Cleaning #OneISS

With the support of Executive Chairman, Mrs Gina Rinehart AO, and the Roy Hill Board, we are continuing to invest in the already high-quality facilities for our remote workforce. Roy Hill’s Ginbata aerodrome is the latest to get a fresh new look – and it is incredible! Thousands of people transit through the Ginbata terminal weekly, and they do it in industry-leading comfort. A new departure lounge large enough to fit a full charter flight of passengers plus a fabulous new café with barista coffee, cool drinks, and snacks is all there to enjoy (thanks to the awesome team at ISS). And for those arriving to site, undercover walkways greet you at the edge of the tarmac and a streamlined layout gets you to your destination even more smoothly. It’s all part of the wider upgrades Roy Hill is undertaking for the benefit of its people, with work also commencing on updates at the Mine Village which we look forward to sharing as they progress.
