To better understand the complex interplay of processes driving algal blooms and midge issues at Maylands Lakes, the JBA design team has been collaborating with Tony Weber from Alluvium Group. OneOneFive Hamilton is in contention for both the Landscape Planning and Climate Positive Design categories at the National Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) Awards. It's rewarding to be back at the City of Canning with Asile Wong and Wanyi Ning to share Josh Byrne & Associates reflections on the design and construction of Wharf Street Next Generation Community Park with Landscape Architecture Masters Students from UWA School of Design. Four and a bit years since construction the park is starting to mature with the vegetation now established providing a habitat for nesting water birds. With the right plant selection landscape architecture projects come into their own and only get better with time. More broadly the park demonstrates how previously inaccessible drainage infrastructure can be transformed into public open space while maintaining the functionality of a stormwater basin.

Great to be at the Mandurah Eastern Foreshore with JBA landscape architect Madeleine Brown, the City of Mandurah, Daniel Strange and Dan Moore. The transformation of the site is well underway. It's rewarding to deliver a project from concept design through to superintendency. As always, good to be working with head contractor PHASE3 Landscape Construction. Looking forward to delivering a great outcome in 2025.
