Some people were born to do their job. The stars aligned for our team to have not just one, but 3 Birthday Celebrants – which makes roughly 15% of our team being born on the same day! Joshua Clark and the first-ever Dura-Base mat arrived just several hours apart, not yet aware of the impact they’d make on how the industry views ground protection. Meanwhile, a two-year-old Daichi Kimoto was busy creating safe working platforms out of Lego blocks for his toy machinery, laying the foundation for his stellar career at JWA! Happy Birthday to our wonderful team members, and of course, to the most durable and versatile mat – Dura-Base! #culture #birthday #teamculture #construction #sustainability

It’s been 11 months since we sent Wazza (one of our special mats), to its first job. In this time, Wazza's been working in the field for 238 days (which is almost 8 months). The mat has been deployed on multiple work fronts. The first was on a multibillion-dollar Queensland infrastructure project, adapting to various crew needs and hopping from pad to pad. Then, to an environmentally sensitive and wet location for digging operations. In both cases, Wazza was used as part of a pad, as using exported fill wasn't an option due to environmental restrictions and ground conditions. Think your project could benefit from matting for working pads and site access? Join the #LifeOfAMat project and help us explore matting capabilities! Wazza's available for its next deployment, let us know if you'd like it sent to your site. #construction #infrastructure #sustainability #civilengineering #valueformoney #lifecycle

It's been just over a year since FODS rumble mats were recognised as an "Innovation First", marking the 12-month window during which projects could earn additional credits for deploying the FODS. In that year, several major Australian projects took advantage of this opportunity, incorporating FODS rumble mats into their site exit solutions to claim credits. RIA’s South Yarra site was the pioneering project scope to use FODS Rumble Mats in Australia, achieving significant savings on water usage and street sweeper costs. Now that the year has ended, FODS Rumble mats continue to offer a sustainable alternative to rumble grids, supporting projects in earning credits in ISv.1: Dis-4, Inn-1, Mat-1, Was-1, or ISv2.1: Env-4, Inn-1, Rso-3, Rso-4, Rso-6. https://lnkd.in/g3vkdtQw FODS #ISC #sustainability #innovation #construction #majorprojects #Australia #infrastructure

On a project for Sunshine Coast Council, a contractor delivering one of the scopes for Mooloolah River Interchange project hired 70m2 of Pro-Zone mats to assist with the footpath diversion. These are our light to medium duty man-portable mats; weighing in at just over 20 kg each, they can hold up to 80 tonnes. More importantly, they can be installed by small crews with nothing but a bit of manpower and a supplied locking tool. The footpath in the video took just a couple of hours to install, and nearly as long to demob, staying in place for about 2 months. If the ground crew needed to adjust the layout as the project progressed, they could easily do so by unlocking the mats and moving them to a desired position. Pro-Zone mats have been tested for traction in wet conditions and achieved a P4 slip rating, making them safe for pedestrians and cyclists and meeting council standards in slip-resistance. #council #councilworks #footpath #tmr #sustainability #construction

As more renewable energy projects use composite matting to support temporary access and pad designs, the industry is keen to learn how composite mats can be deployed for heritage protection, sensitive area access, and safe working platforms. Join us at the Australian Wind Industry Summit in September – it's a win(d)-win(d) situation! Visit https://lnkd.in/gBCFec8Q for more information about the event and to secure your tickets.
