Big enterprises have complex #ServiceManagement needs, which makes even the smallest changes difficult. Our principal, Dan Spada, spoke to itSMF Australia about the key to effective change management: Communication. Communication. 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡. It's all about helping your employees ride the wave of change. 🏄 Here are some tips on how to communicate changes effectively: 🔸 Nominate a change lead: project managers have a lot on their plate already and organisations are constantly evolving, so having a dedicated leader to champion change can help to reduce barriers and friction. 🔸 Understand your personas: not every employee cares about the same thing. Taking the time to understand what matters to each department will help you communicate why the change is happening and get their buy-in. 🔸 A few emails aren't enough: you need a robust awareness comms program. If you think you've communicated enough, double it and double it again. Use a variety of channels—you could have a go-live FAQ webpage or have technicians on the ground when big shifts happen. #ChangeManagement #SIAM #ITSM

📶 Coming live to you from the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Symposium in Canberra. Today we'll be focused on how #Cloud solutions can empower the increasingly complex ecosystem of Australia's public sector. Our team will be tuning into many of the keynote speakers like Iain Rouse, David Levy, Donna Hutchison & Abbey Hogan, feeding home insights on the state of play for #AWS in Australia. 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱: 🔹 Collaboration isn't just a buzzword, but the key to faster and more effective progress. By partnering across sectors, you can leverage cloud tech to deliver better services and stronger, more equitable outcomes for local communities. 🔹 #Data is power—if you can use it. The challenge for public sector is turning vast amounts of data in actionable insights. The pathway to unlocking data is streamlining access and interpretation. 🔹 Services should always be designed with the end-user in mind. Digital transformations can only deliver real, tangible benefits if they prioritise the needs and experiences of Australian citizens. 🔹 #AI doesn't have to be complicated to be effective. Starting with clear, quick wins can allow the public sector to harness AI's potential, without getting bogged down in the complexities. But it's important to have internal conversations about ethical uses of AI from the get-go. #AWS #CloudComputing #AustralianGovernment

Our Principal in Security Consulting & Advisory, Tony C., talks about the glaring issues with cyber security integration at Tech in Gov Expo. 💡 Key insights from our discussions: 🔹 Resourcing challenges: Boosting cyber security resources can be a tough ask for smaller organisations, where the IT department is a skeleton crew. Partnering with a larger tech provider can offer the support and scalability needed to keep up with security legislation, like the #EssentialEight mandate. 🔹 Rethink Training: There's a pervasive lack of faith in cyber security awareness programs. A lot of the time it's about ticking boxes, rather than providing real protection. It's important to change that. Consider interactive, scenario-based training that delivers practical outcomes and better justifies the investment. 🔹 Run Regular Drills: Don’t just have an incident response plan—test it regularly. Conducting thorough fire drills with all key departments, like PR, Marketing, Executives and the Board, will ensure your plan is robust and integrated enough to deal with a real incident. #CyberResilience #IncidentManagement #TechinGov
