Did you know that your Apple devices may be able to save your life in an emergency? Some iPhone models can call emergency services automatically in the event of a serious crash, even if you’re unresponsive. If you have an Apple Watch it may also call for help if it detects a bad fall. Nowadays you don’t even need to have mobile reception to contact emergency services if you own an iPhone, as Apple’s emergency SOS feature allows you to send messages via satellite. Being seriously injured and unable to call for help can have deadly consequences, and tragically is not unheard of in the country. So, take a moment to learn what safety features are available on your Apple devices, where to find them and how to use them: https://lnkd.in/g--NGf4Q The article is free to view, so please share it with friends and family- it may well save a life.

At the National Centre for Farmer Health Symposium in Canberra recently, former AFL player and mental health advocate, Justin Koschitzke, spoke about a conversation he had with a friend that changed his life. "He knew I was going through some hard times, and he said ‘Mate, I love you. I have no idea what you're going through and I have no idea how it feels, but how can I help?'" Koschitzke said it was like a light switched in that moment- "like the weight of the world was lifted off my shoulders." He said having these open conversations can help others take the first vital step and encourage them to take action. Today’s R U OK? Day serves as a reminder to have regular and meaningful conversations- not just today… but any day. Because a conversation could change a life. 📷 R U OK?

The Working Holiday Maker Program delivers an estimated 14 per cent of all farm workers and around 44 per cent of horticulture’s workforce, according to a recent report. And ... it could soon be axed. With the Federal Government’s Review of Regional Migration Settings coming to an end, peak farming bodies have ramped up calls to save the program, which they say provides an invaluable workforce to the regions. 👉 https://lnkd.in/gAt5CCJP 📷 Gordon Best, Shutterstock. #backpackers #farmworkers #workingholidayaustralia #workingholidayvisa
