The risk of cardiovascular disease increases significantly after menopause. This is due to the changes in oestrogen levels. Oestrogen helps keep blood vessels flexible and dilated, promoting healthy blood flow. The reduction in oestrogen levels during menopause can lead to increased arterial stiffness and higher blood pressure, both of which are risk factors for cardiovascular disease. In under 5 minutes, you can have a multi-point health check on the SiSU Health Station, including blood pressure and heart rate checks. Find your closest SiSU Health Station. https://lnkd.in/eR9WgUy #menopausemonth #cardiovascularhealth #knowyourheartnumbers

As the founding partner of the Shane Warne Legacy, we're excited that the Victorian Government is supporting the return of Shane Warne Legacy Health Checks to the Boxing Day Test! Last year, more than 33,000 people received a free Shane Warne Legacy Heart Health Check, with 7,732 checks completed at the Boxing Day Test cricket match alone – around 1 in every 20 attendees! We are thrilled to be at the G again this year, bringing life-saving health checks to thousands of Australians attending. As a not-for-profit health insurer that cares about the health outcomes of its members and community, we are pleased to see the government investing in health outcomes for Australians. Free Shane Warne Legacy Health Checks are supported by founding partner, Latrobe Health Services, and are offered on SiSU Health Group stations. https://lnkd.in/gSTJEkhT

What is the goal of Latrobe Health Services’ partnership with Phoenix Australia ? We saw a true need to bring accessible resources and bulk-billed posttraumatic specialist assessment and treatment planning services to regional Victoria and Phoenix Australia are the experts to do just that. Did you know that two-thirds of Australians will suffer a traumatic event each year, resulting in a range of negative mental health consequences from posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) to depression and addictive disorders? As part of our ongoing commitment to our community and members, we have invested in this service because the impact of trauma (and repeated trauma) is felt particularly strongly in regional and rural communities, which disproportionately bear the brunt of natural disasters and health workforce shortages. Here are some key facts about the program so far: ✔️ 284 clients were referred to the service since Latrobe Health Services began supporting Phoenix Australia in November 2022. ✔️ 1614 appointments were booked with no out-of-pocket cost (according to Medicare, on average Victorians pay $179 out of pocket per assessment appointment). ✔️ These appointments have been provided at no cost – estimated to have saved patients collectively $288,906 Find out more here https://bit.ly/3TkIUfT #trauma #mentalhealth #disasterrecovery #resilience #mentalhealth #mentalhealthresources #wellbeing #health #trauma

Ask R U Ok? ANYDAY. This year the message is loud and clear, don't leave it for one day in the year to check on your mates. Ask it any day, any time. We had the privilege of welcoming the truly inspiring Jason Rantall and his wife Kerry, the founders of Bettermentall_together, to our office this morning. We began with a refreshing walk to get us moving and clear our minds. Afterwards, Jason shared his journey, discussing both the challenging and uplifting moments, as well as how he triumphed over addiction and labels to become the person he is today. Thank you Jason & Kerry, for sharing your story and creating a safe space in Bettermentall for community. Find out more about the work Jason and Kerry do at bettermentall.com.au/
