You wouldn't attempt brain surgery on yourself due to the lack of expertise and tools. Likewise, you shouldn't handle a complicated legal case without professional assistance - it’s risky and could lead to bigger legal problems. Regrettably this is the current situation for some individuals, as many are forced to represent themselves in court due to legal centres not able to take on additional legal matters because of decades of funding neglect and resourcing. This is why the Law Council and the legal profession are calling on all levels of government to boost their backing for Australia's legal support services. The Commonwealth, State, and Territory Governments need to promptly implement the critical funding suggestions from the Independent Review of the National Legal Assistance Partnership's Final Report. The time to act is now. Let's work together to secure justice funding for our communities. Support the Law Council’s Access To Justice For All campaign by sharing the Open Letter across your networks. A2J4All.au   #auslaw #A2J4All #accesstojustice
