Last week LEAP delivered our inaugural Ansys Student Team Simulation Summit - a virtual summit designed specifically for student teams across Australia and New Zealand who are using Ansys simulations in team competitions such as Formula SAE, rocketry, uncrewed aerial vehicles, lunar rovers, solar cars, human powered vehicles and more. The summit included best-practice sessions on key applications such as structural mechanics, aerodynamics (incl. both high-speed and low-speed), lightweighting, composites, electromagnetics, particle simulation and materials selection. Representatives from student teams also shared stories of their recent simulation work and future plans. In case you missed any of the sessions, or would like to revisit any of the material covered, we have made the recordings available here: https://lnkd.in/gG3NdUnK #ansys #formulasae #fsae

LEAP is thrilled to announce the conclusion of our inaugural Ansys Student Team Simulation Summit 2024, held online on October 1st and 2nd, 2024. This virtual event brought together student teams from across Australia and New Zealand who are utilising Ansys simulations in various team competitions, including Formula SAE, rocketry, uncrewed aerial vehicles, lunar rovers, solar cars, and human-powered vehicles.   The summit featured a series of best-practice sessions that focused on essential applications such as structures, aerodynamics (both high-speed and low-speed), composites, electromagnetics, particle simulation, and materials selection - diving into topics such as "Topology Optimisation in Ansys Mechanical and Parametric Optimisation via Ansys Workbench". Participants had the opportunity to engage in interactive discussions with our engineers, Julio Martins, Akash Romesh, Sean Burrows, Mohan, Sergio and deepen their understanding of these critical topics.   In addition to expert-led sessions, we encouraged student representatives to share their experiences, showcasing their recent simulation projects and outlining their future plans. This collaborative environment fostered knowledge exchange and inspiration among attendees. It was great to collaborate with Monash High Powered Rocketry (HPR) and Monash Motorsport.    Overall, the summit highlighted the innovative work being done by student teams and provided valuable insights into the use of Ansys simulations in engineering competitions. We look forward to building on this success in future events!

Bucketwheel Reclaimer Performance Review – Powered by DEM   At EMtek, we were tasked with evaluating the performance of a bucketwheel reclaimer facing challenging conditions—handling material with lower density and higher moisture content. Using Discrete Element Modelling (DEM), we investigated material flow and bulk materials handling behaviour, identifying potential issues and modelling innovative concepts to address them.   Check out our latest DEM video to see how we leveraged advanced simulation techniques to ensure efficient and reliable material handling performance.   #EMtek #EngineeringSolutions #DEM #MaterialHandling #Innovation #BucketwheelReclaimer
