What an outstanding success. The Bay to Birdwood is done, the media attention has been amazing, and the all-important attendance numbers are in. For the first time in a long time, we have hit a police estimate of over 100,000 people lining the route of the Bay to Birdwood. This was noticeable. There were people all the way along the route with big groups this year in places I have never seen groups of people before. It was amazing. (Well done to the people that took my advice to go to Bennett Memorial Reserve on North East Road – great crowd there!) Thank you to everyone who made the day special. The organisers from the History Trust of South Australia, the volunteers, the wonderful sponsors and partners, the people who bought tickets for the Finish Festival, the people who prepared, drove or where passengers in the vehicles, and the 100,000 people on the side of the road – thank you so much for being part of one of the world’s great historic motoring events. Thank you also to the media for your support. What a fantastic story by Tara Miko from the daily newspaper The Advertiser, telling the story of her day at the event (and a great posts on Facebook/Meta as well). National television coverage on Network 10, news stories on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), Seven Network and Nine. Great support from Channel 44 Adelaide. Social media charge led by Kelly Noble from Glam Adelaide. Special shout out to Annabel Crabb, Heather Croall AM, Nick Phillips, Britt Trueack and Burnside Village for Fashions on the Field. Thanks also to South Australian Tourism Commission, Shannons Insurance, and Stucky Tyres for your wonderful support. Thanks for the Cybertruck appearance Tesla. Great article in the programme Nick Palousis from 2XE (I will send you a copy Justin Lunny). Here are some fantastic photos from the event and from the media coverage. There was a lovely blue Jaguar 420 from Victoria, an XK120 from Western Australia and a local Maserati that caught my eye … JLR #vintage #vintagecar #vintageandveteran #classiccar #autotourism City of West Torrens City of Charles Sturt City of Adelaide City of Tea Tree Gully Adelaide Hills Council Tourism Australia Tourism Industry Council SA (TiCSA) #Baytobridwood #btb #historicmotoring
